I don't think of it as a "First Date" at all. I think of it as a "First Meeting." If there is a connection, then we'll know it. Then we can work into a "First Date!" If there isn't a good connection at first, that's OK too. We're just two people meeting for the first time with no expectations. No hard feelings if it doesn't work out. No one is supposed to be "hurt" at this initial meeting. Even if it doesn't work out well, it doesn't mean we can't enjoy the day and go do some "beachy" things or ??? (Oh, I live at the beach, btw! NW Oregon Coast 1/2 way between Seaside & Tillamook)

Just to come home feeling great and thinking about how much fun I had spending the day out riding with someone I really had an easy time talking with.

What seems like an ideal first date to you?

Is there such thing as a "perfect date"? Purely subjective and could change depending upon time and current situation. For me, an enjoyable evening with good conversation is always nice.

Since this is a dating site devoted to bikers, I would assume that a first date would include our bikes. A day ride would be a good way to spend time together, and stopping for lunch (sharing the expense is more than okay) would allow time to talk as well. My favorite local day rides are to Cache Creek, around Clear Lake and to Stoneyford – a 150 mile round trip still gives lots of time to ride and talk and be comfortable. If the weather precludes riding, then going to a local event of almost any sort would be fun – or just taking a drive. Just meeting for a meal is okay, too, but I’d prefer some activity or event where we are doing something, and still have a chance to talk and get to know each other. This would beat going to a movie in my book.

With or without the bikes, a nice conversation, a drink (non-alcoholic if I/we are riding), relaxed, ...

Just about anything goes, can go for a ride, throw back some cold ones, get something to eat, go to the bar, whatever works.
