Would have to be dinner in a casual atmosphere with good conversation. Perhaps a walk on the beach or riverwalk afterwards. Or dinner and the movies.

I'm not sure if there is ever a "perfect" first date. I don't see anything wrong with going out to eat dutch treat, get to know each other, and decide if there will be a second date. Sometimes people build things up in their minds so much that things get ruined. I would hope to have a good time and the second date would be an option on both of our parts.
