As much as I enjoy fine dining and cultural events, I still prefer eating at a local diner and seeing flicks at the cinema. For a first date it should be what we both can enjoy, besides each others company. Conversation is an important part of getting to know each other, and the chosen topics show the person's ability to open up and get to know them. As much as I might want to get to know him personally, I don't want our conversation to be about only ourselves. I feel it is just as vital that our "outside selves" become known as well as our "inside selves". I want to know about who he is at the core, over time, as well as how he lives as this person. Let's face it: finding out too much about a person's "inside self" too soon ruins the exploration that could otherwise take place over time. Besides, whether he or she is focusing on themselves as a topic of conversation is inclusive to your date. I have a pretty relaxed disposition and can best enjoy a date, whether the first or last, when the gentleman I'm with can relax and not try to plan everything about the evening before knows enough about me to even know what I like. In other words, let go of everything else and focus on "us" as long as we are in each others company. I hate when a person is concerned with perfection or control of an event. This might not be something common to say, but just like not saying too much about yourself, how a person dresses is also important. As with conversation, don't let too much of yourself show that should cone to be known through exploration. Another thing I think shows vanity is wearing revealing clothing when visible to the public. I refuse to do this on a first date since I don't want my appearance to be what my date is responding to. A true gentleman will me as a person with a mind, not a body with a brain. A true gentleman is the best type of man to have as my date, and this is the type of man I want to have as my respectful loved one, my beshert.

Going some place quiet to talk and get to know each other. Going to a park with swings and trees or going to the river to watch the world go by as we enjoy each others company.
