I am not the type of woman that would ride on the machine. I have done it a few times to be nice but I absolutely hate it! It hurts my back and ruins my hair. He wants to get me out on the highway and that is a no go. I thought a few short hops around town was agreeable. Last year he rode to Tennessee and left me home separating us and ruining our vacation. This summer I want that rolling nightmare out of our lives. Please I need suggestions on how to get my husband to sell the thing and get something we can both enjoy like a camper.
You either love it or you hate it. There is no in between. And you will never get the "biker" out of a guy or girl. It is there forever. Just the way it is.
He went to bike week at Sturgis and I am going to a day spa and doing my thing. Also I changed my mind. I found that I enjoy it now and the faster he goes the hotter I get!
I got one & my wife of 47 years told me to get it, it will be my last. I had lots of bikes over are married life. She don't ride she has never rode on my bike & we are Very Happy, i take care of her & she does the same for me. & if she Camp we would have a camper. i got Friends who all ride & some got Campers too.
Granted, He was soooooo wrong for not consulting you before a large purchase, but some of us take umbrage with the idea that being a worker, christian, etc is somehow associated with NOT riding a motorcycle. If he has been all those things, then let him have his dream. Sounds like he deserves it. Don't make him choose--that attitude usually does not end up going in your favor.
you may as well ask him to stop breathing. but you both should talk about it. get to know each others reasons about the bike. get to know the others perpectives on it. or he could get another harley that you would feel good on
When I married him, he was a decent 9 to 5 - Mon thru Fri worker. He was a christian man and a good father to his sons. Financially we are leading decent lives but one day I came home to find a Harley in the garage and my husband grinning. He shouted surprise!!! and my only thought was can it be return. This motorcycle has turned our lives upside down!
