Maine
Maritime
Maine Coast |
 |
Thanks again for
one of the most
enjoyable vacations
we have ever had. We
both needed a break
from our hectic
lives and the
maritime tour gave
us exactly what we
needed.

The
northern coast of Maine is
absolutely beautiful. Its
rugged coastline calls to
mind the western coasts of
Ireland and Scotland. Salt
water beaches await the
adventurous swimmer.
Spectacular sunrises greet
the early riser. This will
be a tour to remember as we
encounter some of the most
beautiful maritime views to
be found anywhere in the
world.
We'll
stop at small fishing
harbors and islands to watch
lobster being unloaded from
lobster traps and ships
headed out to sea.
Starting out in Bar Harbor,
Maine, we will begin with a
full day of exploring Acadia
National Park and the rest
of Mount Desert Island. You
might choose to ride along
the coastal road or hop on a
boat to do some whale
watching. In the morning,
you might travel to the top
of Cadillac Mountain to be
among the first in the
United States to see the
sunrise. Acadia is a real
treasure for motorcyclists
and has been described as a
favorite touring destination
in countless magazine
articles.

Next
we will hug the coastline of
Maine as we travel up into
the Canadian province of New
Brunswick. Enroute, you
might choose to head out to
visit the childhood summer
home of Franklin D.
Roosevelt. We'll also lead
you by ferry out to a small
Canadian island to watch the
largest whirlpool in the
western hemisphere.
Riding
through the blueberry
barrens and mountain roads
of Maine, you'll visit the
easternmost lighthouse in
the United States before
returning to Bar Harbor.
After
each great day of riding,
you'll sit down to an
elegant dinner and then
have time to relax by
yourself, or with new
friends in a
wonderful country inn or
grand hotel. Our lodging
in Maine is right on the
ocean and includes a
beautiful outdoor pool and
hot tub. Our lodging in New
Brunswick is a majestic
grand hotel which overlooks
the Bay of Fundy. |

For lunch, riders who choose
to can join us at one of the
best ;lobster pounds" in all
of New England where we will
feast on fresh lobster,
corn-on-the cob and other
regional specialties. |

The Maine Maritime Tours
last for five nights and
include double-night stays
in Bar Harbor, Maine and
Saint Andrews, New
Brunswick. Mt. Desert Island
is a popular summer resort
area in mid-summer but the
areas we'll travel to "down
east" of the island are
rarely explored by other
visitors. |
