Interesting that this would come up today. Yesterday I was riding the "Vespa" - in Real Life, a Brand New 2 Year Old Stella - charging the battery so I could demo it to the young lady I think is going to buy it. I was making a right turn - the turn signals on the Stella make a "beep beep beep" and I was sitting there, engine idling, waiting for a lady to complete crossing the street. Then I realized the lady was blind, or nearly so - dark glasses and a long "cane" or "walking stick" - and she stopped, out in the street. I turned off the turn signal - and the beeping stopped - and she looked - somewhat alarmed, confused.
I holloered - "The beeping was the turn signal on my scooter."
She smiled and continued across and stood at the corner and talked to me for a while - asked me if it was a MoPed - I told her it was a motorscooter - similar to a moped. She looked "of an age" to understand what a Vespa is so I told it was like a Vespa. She smiled, bade me Good Day and went on her way.
