Question: Is there really any true biker ladies out there now days? I dont mean the ones that has the leathers and puts them on a few times a year to show off with their boyfriend when he goes to show off his new OCC (or other wanna be chopper) I mean the women that live the understand and live the !% lifestyle. Where most likely their leathers are worn and faded from miles on the scooter. The ones that dont have to ask what to pack for a run. Or the ones that knows going on a run, means long miles on the scooter, not riding in a cage pulling the scooter on a trailer, no matter what the weather or the miles. What about the gals that mend their man with a few scrapes from a fight or road rash? The ones that dont complain cause of a bro showing up at 2am needing a place to crash? The ones that sit in the shop as their ol man works on the scoot all night to go on a run, just to give him company and help him keep going? Is there any of the ol school scooter tramp ladies left?

Can't say I'm a 1%er, but I do ride daily, rain, shine, snow, heat, it's all good. Rode my Sporty from CA to Sturgis and all over America for a month, alone. And if you got a Harley you will fix it on the rode.

Problem is guys always say they want this type of woman, but when guys get ahold of this type of woman, I notice we scare em.

I have just as much trouble finding a real biker man. Most just ride a couple miles to stand around and BS, then ride a few miles back home. I ride 5-15,000 a year. Have been know to ride 1200 miles from Florida to New York in 19 hours (would have been 17 but I had to stop and warm-up twice :) Love spending an entire day riding unkown roads, new places to see, eat, and explore. So, where did all the real biking men go?

Yes there are and I am one of them! I ride my own, pack my own, hold my own. Average about 18,000 to 20,000 miles per year, work on my own bike. Changed out my pipes in the parking lot of Fridley Harley Davidson at the Twin Cities when one blew a weld going down the interstate. Ya - there's still some of us around!

Hi Gritz, Happy New Year. I'm new and yours is the first forum subject i have read. I'm in my 40,s now but I dated a couple 1%ers in my early 20's and i was naive and they were mean. my bad picks. but truely it seems the only good one percenters are the presidents and such. they got their chit together but doesn't mean the members always do. so i took another route and just dreamed of the perfect biker. now at 40 something wish i had tried to find a good one harder but maybe later. Anyway seems like a lot of wonderful cool real women right here answering your thread. Biker Blessings to ya.

What is a true biker woman? I don't understand the 1% mentality personally. My life revolves around my family, friends, and work. Riding bikes is something I have enjoyed since I was 14 but other things come 1st in my life as I am sure it with most other folks that ride...including their women.

I doubt very seriously that one has to be crusty or well versed in antediluvian vernacular to be a "real" motorcyclist. What does age or silly lingo have to do with riding or wrenching? Am I a yuppy because I am not yet an old woman? Am I a yuppy because I have a good vocabulary? Am I a yuppy because my bike was made in Italy? I didn't get into riding because I wanted to impress some dude. As I stated in an earlier post I have been riding since I was a tiny girl. Do you own a car? I don't. Have you ridden all over the world? Solo? I have. Can you calculate rake and trail? I can. Why on earth do you feel the need to attack other forum members? Isn't it just cool that she is another woman who rides? Or do old hens still feel threatened by spring chickens? I want to get as many women (of all ages) into riding as possible. Thank goodness the days of being labeled unfavorably for being the only woman on a bike are behind us. To the best of my understanding this is a *motorcycle* forum. Not only salty old hog riders post here. I am a real *motorcyclist*. Hear me roar damnit! LOL

You are so right. Now a days it is the yuppies! You got one here bro!!!!! Hopefully the yuppies will tire of the scene and we can have our world back and know who is for real!! See there is one below. Complaining of the phrase Scooter Tramp!! Doesn't even know the lingo. Womens lib crap. If he is willing to have you hang around at the shop he wants you there and is going to invest the time. Besides I get my hands greasy too! Don't be a barbie doll! Sometimes people read to much crap into a relationship. Especially these young chicks. Relax it is a figure of speech!!!!

Easy there Roxie. I might be mistaken here, but I'm pretty sure Griz' is speakin' Ole' School, when the "Scooter Tramp" refered to the dude on the front, not the chick he's packin'. Don't be so ready to be all offended and 'chit. =) It's all good...

Peace-out!

There is definitely a difference. I have been riding motorbikes since I was knee high to a grasshopper yet would cringe if ever someone referred to me as a "biker" chick, lady or other. I am a motorcyclist who has ridden all over the globe. I don't ride pillion, I do not do "bike nights", rallies or poker runs. I have an extreme aversion to chicken strips, square tires, t-shirts & beaniecaps. I do most of my own wrenching. I am a motorcyclist & licensed road racer. I do not even own a cage. So am I a poseur? Nope. It's just a very different sort of riding. I don't cruise the highways, I cane the canyons & racetracks. Yet I respect & admire anyone on two wheels who has a healthy respect for their machines by taking safety & road etiquette seriously.

Yes we're here, but today's bikers don't want us. They want the young hot bodied babes to show off with. Where are the real men who want the real women? I have been on bikes over 35 yrs, times definately have changed.

Times change and people change too. After over 40 years of ridin, I finally put a windshield on my bike. It was gettin so the wind on long rides was beatin me to death. Now I always said that windshields were for pussies, too. Just like chaps. So bein the "badassed biker" that I was and ridin year round; I'd get off the bike half frozen and go in for a cuppa joe.
Then slosh it all over myself when the shakes set in. So I invested in my first pair of chaps too. : )
As to "True Biker"; Seems like that's more an attitude or a willingness to live a certain lifestyle. I don't live it anymore. Now while I still love being onboard the iron horse, I am more "Joe Citizen"...... Yeah, right. LOL

Hello BB and yes i feel the same way now it's just too Damn hard to be a "Biker"...so now im just Motorcycle Enthusiest/ Hippie with a Rideing Habit....Good to see you around again Amigo...Keep the Rubber side down...DD

Based on my personal experinces for 6 years, there are few biker girls who really love to ride. It was in big cities though.
