I don't know if this song is fitting to post here...I absolutely love this song & this song was played at my Mom's funeral. This Saturday, March 4th, will be 3 years that my Mom has passed away from lung cancer...

    How Great Thou Art
Carl G. Boberg and R.J. Hughes

    O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

    And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

So those of us who have a strong faith must be patient with the weaknesses of those whose faith is not so strong. We must not think only of ourselves.

Give us, O Lord, a steadfast heart, which no unworthy affection may drag downwards; give us an unconquered heart, which no tribulation can wear out; give us an upright heart, which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside. Bestow upon us also, O Lord our God, understanding to know you, diligence to seek you, wisdom to find you, and a faithfulness that may finally embrace you; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

His anger lasts only a moment. His favor lasts a lifetime. Weeping may last for the night, but there is a song of joy in the morning.

    1. Your thumb is nearest to you.
So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you.
They are the easiest to remember.

    2. The next finger is the pointing finger.
Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal.
This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers.
They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction.

3.The next finger is the tallest finger, which reminds our leaders.
Pray for the national leaders, leaders in business and industry,
    and administrators.
These people shape our nation and guide public opinion.

    4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.
    Surprising to many is fact that this is our weakest finger;
as any piano teacher will testify.
It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain.

    5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all.
Which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.
As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you"
Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.
By the time you have prayed for the other four groups,
your own needs will be put into proper perspective.

Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight; for I give you good precepts: do not forsake my teaching.
When I was a son with my father, tender, the only one in the sight of my mother, he taught me, and said to me, "Let your heart hold fast my words; keep my commandments, and live; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth. Get wisdom; get insight.
Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.
The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.
Prize her highly, and she will exalt you; she will honor you if you embrace her.
She will place on your head a fair garland; she will bestow on you a beautiful crown."
Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.
I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of uprightness.
When you walk, your step will not be hampered; and if you run, you will not stumble.
Keep hold of instruction, do not let go; guard her, for she is your life.
Do not enter the path of the wicked, and do not walk in the way of evil men.
Avoid it; do not go on it; turn away from it and pass on.
For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong; they are robbed of sleep unless they have made some one stumble.
For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.
The way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know over what they stumble.
My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart.
For they are life to him who finds them, and healing to all his flesh.
Keep your heart with all vigilance; for from it flow the springs of life.
Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you.
Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.
Take heed to the path of your feet, then all your ways will be sure.
Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

I am a soldier in the army of my God!
The Lord Jesus Christ is my commanding officer!
The Holy Bible is my code of conduct!
Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare!
    I have been taught by the Holy Spirit;
Ttrained by experience, tried by adversity,
    and tested by fire!
I am a volunteer in this army, and
    I am enlisted for eternity!
I will either retire in this army at the Rapture,
    or die in this army;
But I will not get out, bail out, be talked out,
    or be pushed out!
I am faithful, reliable, capable, and dependable!
If my God needs me, I am there!
If He needs me to teach children, work with the youth,
help adults, or just sit and learn, He can use me,
because I am here. I am a soldier! I am not a baby!
I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up,
pumped up, picked up or pepped up!
I am a soldier! No one has to call me, remind me,
write me, visit me, entice me, or lure me!
    I am a Soldier! I am not a Wimp!
I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders,
Praising His Name, and building His Kingdom!
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy
    or give me handouts!
I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for
    or catered to!
    I am committed!
I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough
    to turn me around!
I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside!
I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit!
When Jesus called me into this army, I had nothing!
If I end up with nothing, I will still come out even!
I will win! My God will supply all my needs!
I am more then a conqueror! I will always triumph!
I can do all things through Christ!
Devils cannot defeat me! People cannot disillusion me!
Weather cannot weary me! Sickness cannot stop me!
Battles cannot beat me! Money cannot buy me!
    Governments cannot silence me,
    and Hell cannot handle me!
I am a Soldier! Even death cannot destroy me!
For when my Commander calls me from this battlefield,
He will promote me to a captain, and then
bring me back to rule this world with Him!
I am a Soldier in the army of the Lord
    and I?m marching, claiming victory!
I will not give up! I will not turn around!
    I am a Soldier, marching Heaven-bound!

today I attended the funeral of a dear man. I couldn't believe the thoughtless people (several) that cut into the procession line as we were going to his final resting place. why is everyone in such a hurry? if they were going where he was going do you think they would have been in the same hurry? I just wanted to say that I hope people would be more respectful of a fellow brother or sisters last ride through town. thanks for listening . bless you all my wonderful bk friends
