It's finally cooling off down here! Message board

Down south, we don't usually get the snow and ice you guys up north do. About 10 days ago here in Austin, we had a little rain that caused a freeze and there was ice on the roads, and we panicked!

The city offices shut down for the day, we had school closings, and alot of businesses had late openings. I usually get to work around 7:30, but they notified us the office wouldn't open until 10:00.

Cars were everywhere. No one knew what to do or how to do it. I work with a girl who is from NY and she was at work at 7:30 prompt.

She was telling me that she is used to this kind of stuff and it's a daily thing up north. She said she was amazed at the school closings, cars sliding around, etc.

We laughed though, because she said she can handle the snow and ice as well as I can handle the heat and humidity! 12* means nothing to her like 112* means nothing to me!

It's about 3:00 here and I'm piling up on the sofa, with the fireplace roaring, and a big fat cup of coffee with Bailey's.

Life is good....enjoy it, my friends. No matter where you are!

OMG...it is something like 45* outside and I just came back from Walmart (a freakin zoo!) and thought my car would NEVER heat up!

    BTW...I am officially old.

I found myself standing in the baking aisle, talking to a woman I have never met about a freakin recipe I had for chocolate dipped cookies. Yes, I remember my mother talking to other women in the store while shopping and thinking "Come on old woman, quit yacking with everyone!"

God I need to get a life.
