Acceptance is the road to peace
letting go of the worst
holding on to the best

the hearts best defense
loves greatest asset
and the easiest way
to keep believing
in yourself and others
acceptance
does not mean you will always be perfect
it simply means
you will try to overcome perfection

I agree I think its the only way to survive without being a fruitcake too!!

i can't agree with this one. i will always have expectations. you can't just discount them all. i hire someone, i expect them to work and work to the best of their ability. i have a relationship with someone, i expect them to be truthful and honest with me. i expect people to treat me with respect. and people should expect the same from me. if those expectations are not met, they are fired or kicked to the curb. to not hold expectations of people is like not having standards. i think the trick is to have realistic expectations of people. i wouldn't hire a high school drop out and expect them to be able to manage my network. i don't expect my kids to get a 100% on every test but i can expect them to try.
anyway, my .02 for what it's worth

Oops!
Please don't misunderstand my words above. I didn't write evrything i know, just that quoted message I saw.
Standards are different than expectations, of course.

Those are wise words to remember indeed! One door closes another opens. I think that's hard for ALL of us to remember "at the time" ... but so true. All things happen for reasons...keep the faith. I have to remind myself of that daily!

Expectations lead to disappointment
disappointment leads to resentments
resentments festers and turns either into anger or depression--so i try not to expect

accept life for what it is--and live one day at a time--don't let the breakdown of a relationship eat at your gut--it will only hurt you not the other person--and by holding onto that anger THE OTHER PERSON WINS--so for yourself and your loved ones--turn it over to your higher power AND YOU WILL BE THE WINNER INSTEAD OF THE LOSER--YOU WILL BE THE SURVIVOR INSTEAD OF THE VICTIM

so please--help yourself--give up the anger--and yes it is easier said then done--put little notes all over to remind you

Thank you for the words. For those who haven't thought of it before, they provoke good thoughts and surely help with problems, for others, they are reminders to keep us on the path.

My expectations of others were always wrong, in most cases people always prove me wrong, always out shining what I might of thought them to be. Now I just lay back with ecceptance and end up liking what they are to be.
I am looking forward to meeting you all in NY.

But as for to night, I am out of here. LMFAO........ This happenz to me sometimes, it will pass, that every thing I write comes out sounding like a F@*#in rap song.....

Sorry folks, later....LOL!

lol. Boy, I can sure relate to that! For me it can all come out like lousy poetry. Oh, yah, Rap!

TY, everybody who has shared here. I am tempted to respond to the great things you've shared, but would become so verbose, you'd all be yelling for DD's duct tape!
Yo-yo, doing that over a non-disclosure item with a friend. Keep finding that yo-yo in my pocket.
Closed door-open window.
God can be a higher-power, how we see that and inter-act is up to us.
Defintion of insanity: Same actions, or non-actions, same results, so new pathways can create different results, as in healthier and happier ones.
Acceptance of what is_is never easy for me. Again, it's BALANCE, such a beautiful word.
Isn't it funny? I posted this thread to help others during the Holiday madness, now all you've all shared is helping me a lot with a sad thing that just happened. I am too open sometimes with my heart and my mouth.
You're a 'present' to me, my bk buds.

Hmmm did you say duct tape??
heh heh heh heh
OOPS

I wasn't me.....

back to my cage......
