It seems names of bikes is important to many of us. For me I never thought of it till reading many of the posts and was curious on this..
Im still confused on it a little as to why? I name my pets but have never named any of my bikes... What am I missing here?

I don't normally give "things" names but there is something about my bike that requires a name. He is so much a part of who I have discovered I am. He brings me so much joy, the only joy besides the kids. Now with a name like S*ex, what can say but JOY!!!

i think by naming our bikes we give them their own identity an life--they are important to us and for me JR deserves recognition and respect--we meld and become one when riding

Not my Spike. I won't need to watch my back - Spike is so fast that y'all will be watching my back as I leave y'all behind in a cloud of dust! And as far as a bite goes - who said there's anything wrong with a little nibble here or there? It's not like clawing up a back.
by the way she never gets jellious if i look at another bike or even is bothered if i hapen to ride another one all night long...no mater what she is always willing to accept me back with open bars and a gentle purr when i tickle her throtle
i have a love hate relationship with my favorite bike (80 ironhead)_ its name and s*x change with its and my mood....some of the names cant be listed here but is most often affectionly called...... "MY MYSTRESS"
I had my user nic before I had a motorcycle. When chosing it I came up w/'Thunderunderme' b/c I love the feel of the 'thunder' under me.
So of course when I bought one it had to be Thunder. Since he is Low, Lean, & Sexy it was so appropriate. Had to be male...to put the Thunder Under Me.

I been reading this exchange and laughin' my b utt off. But I gotta tell you this one,
many years ago I had a canoe because we lived on a river bank. I painted the canoe flat primer black and rigged it for sail. It was a square mast set-up, like a pirate ship. I painted the skull and crossbones on the side at the bow and hoisted a jolly roger, (which I still have and it can also tell many stories).
