Hey Guys and Gals....Just wanted to point out the "love and brotherhood" of the fellow bikers here in good ole GA....yesterday, Mark and I took a ride to the mountains for the day..yeah, it was a wonderful ride and the weather was great...lots of bikes on the road. Anyway, on our ride back, one of the inner pipes broke in half....while we were on the side of the road, about 10-12 "bikers" rode by and not one stopped!
Ok, here's the scenerio....Mark was laying on the figgin ground, beside the bike trying to wire the pipe up so that we could make it home, I was standing between the bike and the interstate....one "biker" even rode by and asked if all was well with the thumbs up...I shook my head no and the asshole kept riding! Now, if you see a man, or woman, lying on the ground beside a bike, and the passenger standing between the bike and the traffic, chances are, the rider is either working on the bike or the passenger got really pis*ed and has knocked his arse out! In this case, Mark was working on the bike. LOL
After the first 10 to 12 "bikers" rode by, a BIKER rode by, turned around and came back....assisted us with the donation of a bungee cord to hold the pipe up and followed us to our exit! I can't tell you how disappointed both Mark and I are with the riders that kept going!
I've stopped in my car, Mark has stopped in his truck, Hell, Weenie has stopped in HER car, to assist riders down....what the hell???? Isn't that what we're supposed to do?
OH, and BTW....Mark rides an '01 Road King...the BIKER that stopped to help...he was riding a verrrrrry nice Honda Valkyre!...Didn't get his name but the bike was canary yellow and black...and he's from the Marietta area...if anyone knows him or sees him, please, tell him Angel and Mark say thanks BROTHER!!!!!
I know, without a doubt, that I'll stop the next time I see a bike on the side of the road...and if I can't make it the first pass, I'll turn around and come back...as will Mark, and any other real BIKER...but for the ones of you that keep going....I do hope the only ones that come along when you're broken down, are others that JUST keep going! You do, after all, reap what you sow, right???? Thanks to ALL the Georgia RUBS that rode by yesterday...keep it between the lines!

If you are afraid of people stay in a car.

Yeah Rev that was the one with the dirt bike in Ohio that clearly had several people around him and in the next 30 seconds the sirens of the ambulance coming could be seen and heard.

Angelrider, I have been there solo and it sounds like AJ has as well. It is part of riding.

Glad Mike and you are well and your helper Bee came by.

Angel....I know you were disappointed, I felt your pain just reading your posts. That would upset me also. It should'nt matter what kind of bike you have. Glad someone finally stopped and helped yall.

And you knew when you hit send that I would reply, didn't you Jerry!? LOL Well, I'll not let you down, so here it goes.....I promise, I wouldn't shoot Mark without cause...besides, he doesn't let me near the gun...and even if I did shoot him, I wouldn't be foolish enough to stand over the body! I'd have been on that Road King, hauling azz down the road. As for YOU being afeared of me, well, you've proven me wrong...you are, after all, a smarter man than I gave you credit for!

I have stopped while driving my car to help bikers on side...

One time, My friend and I broke down in the boonies-major bike riding area-and we were in a no cell reception zone. A guy with a work van pulled over-we used his heavy equipment to pull the bike up into his work van. We climbed in the front and he took us ~out of his way~ to get the bike all the way to my friend's house. Made the guy late for a call, so we gave him all the cash we had to thank him.
Whatta Doll!

Sorry to hear of the bad luck with the tail-pipe...but even worse, all the others riding on by!!

That's just wrong!!

Springer and I have done a lot of riding together, and at one point early on, we rode by an accident involving a bike that had happened on the other side of the median. We slowed down and I saw that the biker was up and others (cagers) had stopped. Knowing that they were taken care of, we didn't turn around, but otherwise...I know we would have.

But, those who went on by and didn't even check to see if you both were o.k. or needed help.....that's just wrong!

I'm very glad someone did stop and assist you two. Too bad those others didn't. Wonder if they'll face the same fate some day?
