Hey another fundamentalist here. Raised southern baptist, but I just can't believe anything unless I read it in my Bible. Me an my preacher still have topics we don't agree on.

    Hi,
I am so sorry for your loss. My second husband of only 19 months died of lung cancer. He was a saved man, reformed drug dealer and user. He was the my best friend for 13 years before we were married. The bible talks about debtors who were forgiven of their debt. How that the greater the debt released the greater the debtor is grateful. He never forgot what Jesus did for him. I miss him so much. There are no words for me that can comfort, but the great comforter is with you.

Hi Nealb----yes I've made some decisions and changes that were overdue and asked the Lord to keep on me so I don't forget the reason I'm here. I've been blessed with a peaceful spirit because of it and thank you for your prayers through this. Also he's given me the energy and strength to work 3 jobs right now to get me through the winter slow time but I feel great and it's all thanks to Him. God bless you..Miki

To all my brothers and sisters, I could really use some heavy prayer. Due to some bad judgment on my part I have trouble hanging over me and would be grateful for your prayer support. Thanks...mikif

Father, mikifs' belief in the power of prayer is proof of her faith. I join her now in praying That your perfect will be done, in whatever problem she may be facing. May she by that same faith understand, tha t all things, regardless of our personal feeling about the outcome, work for good to them that believe and call on You, Amen.

I just went to the best wedding I've ever attended...most people rode in, the bride showed up at 11:11 and the ceremony lasted exactly 4 minutes. They should all be like that. These two are committed in every way to each other and the length of the ceremony was just enough to promise each other in front of their friends. We all spent the rest of the hour there visiting and taking photos. Great day! God bless you all...

Ok nb--make sure to get a good pic of your new ride before you get going so we can all see it. No matter who gets a new bike EVERYBODY wants to check it out. I bet you're marking the days now...God bless...Miki

Hey Preacher Mike-nice to meet you and know another person who understands about "persevering in the Lord"! Every day seems to bring a new challenge one way or the other--not all fun--but we can say for sure it's NEVER DULL. Once in awhile I ask the Lord to let me be bored for just a little while before He throws me a new project. Usually I'm the main project!

Probaly should keep my overly large mouth shut here, but will chance the slings and arrows.
It is my belief that your Truth is your own and every bit as valid as anyone else's. For those who believe in the Bible and Jesus, with all of their hearts; They aren't wrong...at least, not for themselves. Yet, there are other beliefs as well; just as devout.
No. I'm not a Christian. I'm an Animist.
I was brought up in both the church and in the traditional Native beliefs, so I could chose my own path.
Nor do I 'argue" religion or seek "converts"; for each must look into their own hearts to find their Truth.

    mikif;

Thanks for your insights. It's good to hear a woman's perspective. We were very close, especially the last 4 years, as I cared for her 24/7. There was no help. People over time withdrew from us. They just didn't know how to deal with the physical changes she was going through. I lost her one piece at a time. Right down to her beautiful smile. She never complained and was always more concerned about my needs than her own. She taught me what it really meant to love another. She taught me how to live to serve, and serve to live. I know she is now whole and complete. I believe I must still have alot ot learn, otherwise I wouldn't still be here.

Your advice is well directed. I will certainly think on what you have said and try to apply your wisdom as I face each new day. So much to learn . . . such little time.

    nb

hi! back from my trip, umm, I traded bikes for the same reason, memories, only in my case it was a filipina who ripped me off and turned all my relatives against me, and guess what? the guy who bought my old bike was looking for a scoot to take his mind off HISD divorce! taking that triphelped me, and it will help you. sometimes those solitary miles give us the emotional distance we need from a pain, but I do so very much feel for your loss, and know she wouldnot want you unhappy, my friend, God bless.

Havfun--by likeminded I mean we believe in Jesus...I don't worry about the denominations because the bottom line is pretty simple--serve God and love each other. I believe love isn't so much how you feel as how you treat others. I was raised a Catholic but pretty much opted for fundamentalism at the age of 18. I believe there are God-fearing nuns and priests who really serve God but I don't agree with alot of their notions. For one thing bible study wasn't encouraged where I was so I just believed as I was directed. In any case God knows the heart no matter what we call it.

hi! im back from my trip, umm, my comments were actually meant to head off people fussing at YOU , about just who is like minded and what like minded should be.. those sorts of arguments have no end, sorry i didnt word it better, smile.

My husband of 34 years passed less than two years ago. I know some of your pain.

Ironically it was I who got ill in '98 and he cared for me.

Like you nealb49 I also must have a purpose since my Lord walked w/me through the valley of death and led me out of it.

I talk to my late husband...esp. when I'm riding my scoot. I tell him to come along w/me and enjoy the ride. lol I also hear him when I mess up..'where was your head at woman?'..just like when he was living.

I was so blessed to have known love like his. If I know love again..what a bonus.
