Great way of putting it, Rev. Thanks.

I think times like 9/11, the tsunami, the hurricane, and other devastations are ways of reminding us of how precious life is. We sometimes get so caught up on things in life that really don't matter, and waste so much time that could be spent mending relationships and building new ones.

Bottom line, no matter how rich you are, no matter how powerful you are, when it comes down to it, we're all equal. We all need each other and we need to not be ashamed of that and not forget that.

Harley couldn't have said it better and Thanks...God Bless All!......Mo

Mo, my prayers go to you and your family as you're reminded of this time and of your trials and loss.

I was working at Discover Card and had a new hire training class to facilitate on that unforgetable morning. I sent the group to their morning break and I noticed all of them were late in returning. First day of work and this is what they ALL do? I asked them why and was told about the first tower being hit. I then walked (almost ran) to the cafeteria where the tv's were always on and set to CNN. I had just missed the second tower being hit.

Discover Card is a sister company to Morgan Stanley which was housed in the 2nd tower. I knew of people who moved up through the company and transferred to NY to fulfill their career goals.

The company as a whole shut down...employees were sent home, but hardly anyone left. Hundreds of employees standing or sitting...in awe...and the only thing heard was the televisions...echoing the cries of terror and fear from the newscasters to the people on the streets of NY.

Never have I seen a group of people gathered as one who were so diverse.

The human spirit is amazing. We can judge one another by the color of their skin, by the region where they live, by religion, and many other insignificant classifications... But in time of trial and of need, we are all one. Why must we be reminded during these heartwrenching times that we are of one race...?

Don't forget those who were lost and are now looking down on us from above. They won't forget us as we joined together.

Bless you all.

What do I see Mo, I see the lord waiting to take home those that we love that were lost in this horrific tradgedy, a rainbow for a new beginning and the American Bald Eagle... a symbol of pride and protection.

I was going home from dropping off my kids at a day care, on my way to the airport to pick up a friend coming in from Scotland. Needless to say his flight was turned around and i went home to watch in dismay. Bless all who are lost and the families.

Was doing a case in the operating room, when another nurse came in and told us about the first plane. When we learned about the second and then third strikes I went numb. My son had been home for the weekend, and had left from Hartford at 7:00AM headed for Atlanta. I tried calling him and could not reach him. Panic now setting in. Thought he had direct flight, but instead was on the ground in NC for his connecting flight. Finally spoke to him around 1:00PM. Sheer terror not knowing if he was OK. My heart aches for all those people who were killed, and the families and friends who loved them.

Wow Mo...God bless.

Thanks for sharing such touching photos. Still seems like yesterday, which I guess is why it's still so easy for tears to well up.

The photo of the 'missing brother' message brings it back home. Nothing will ever take the place of 9/11, though there are many hurricane victims who feel the same.

One devastation was man-made, the other nature-made, though both have the same impact.

I was home talking to my Dad on the p*hone when the first plane hit the North Tower.....My Dad told me to put the tv on as the second plane hit the South tower.....AT 10:28 when the first tower hit but second to fall (North) my brother Lieut. Tim Higgins S.O.C division 252 (FDNY) was lost in the collapse responding to a may day call.....My father a Ret. (Fdny)Fire Capt. got a call from my brother Mike later telling him Tim was out of radio contact for 2 hrs at which point we knew he was gone.....My brother Joe, Bob, and Matt were already there....also (FDNY) AND (NYPD)....They promised my dad they would bring him home and 19 days later they did! After the funeral they went back and dug for 5 more months. Mike broke his leg the first day....ripped the cast off ,and went back till they closed the site....to this day this is the hardest weekend for my family...We not only lost my brother but friends that we knew a lifetime! My mom is the rock....A true Firemans' Wife and Mother!
This was written acroos from the towers right after they fell!
