Yippee I did it. My first long ride. Mike rode to my house and I climbed on Thunder and we rode 5 hours...over 200 miles. As I was leaving my drive I heard Thunder say "let's git er done girl".
First couple hours were beautiful, sunny in the high 70's. Had all kinds of roads, 2 lanes, 4 lanes, highway, country...we stopped to eat with about an hour left. When we came out the rain was coming. Off we went and the skies opened. Lightening ...Thunder said 'yo bro'. I prayed...Lord take me safely through it. And he did. It cleared....it lightly rained...and it cleared. F'in awesome. I absolutely loved it. There is no comparison btwn driving and being a passenger. I love them both but they are totally different.
Got some skills to work on...mainly stopping and starting....lmao I can go like the wind on the highway and in the curves but slow me to a crawl and I suk. It'll all come with time.
Gonna stay with Mike a few days and ride, ride, ride...Sat will be my first poker run...and I am already looking forward to the 5 hour ride home.
Thank you all here for giving me the incentive to do this. A year ago I never dreamed I could/would be doing this. I made a new life at 54.
so happy for ya Babe and I'm glad I was there to feel your presence and all that you bring to everyone else.. you are such a giver and that in it's self is such a breathe of fresh air....to all that came celebrate with you...I felt nothing but goodness..had a few teasers but you know with any crowd there's bound to be one or two...

Way to go honey! I expect you will rack up a few thousand miles soon enough! Oh yeah, I may find myself headed east again in the next month or so... If so, I have to come back by and see ya. I forgot to sign the banners! Egads! Well, good excuse for you to join me on a ride!
Dearest Char--you are a spectacular woman--nothing will ever keep you down and because of that you are and should be respected and held in awe by those of us who haven't had to overcome the chit life dealt you.
i love you as my sometimes older sister and sometimes younger one--because you give me the strength to do what i have to do for myself
Sweet Thunder ain't it Char!!!
I'll gladly stand in back of the
crowd that loves and applauds you,
but I hope you can feel my love and respect for you!
