Been riding the last couple of days just after the big freeze -13 without the wind -39 BRRRR. But it is back in the 20s so I ride everyone says I'm crazy but with the leather its OK. Nothing better than a intense morning wake up ride Yaaaahoooooooo!!!!!!
It is NEVER too cold to ride!!!
Your local Harley shop has electric gloves and also a electric vest to go under your leathers....
IF you keep your chest warm and your fingers warm then you can handle the temperature down to -10F
I live in Wisconsin and have ridden in january when it was -10...It sure did make the yuppie puppies look!!! LOL BUT it felt so good to be riding!!!
Nothing will make your day better than a ride no matter what the season is!!!
rocky6666 write: Riding over MT Hood in January can be a bit much but with enought dead animal skins on it is possible. As long as the snow and ice isn't bad.
I hear that, been down that road in the evening and late at night when the black-ice makes for dangerous curves ahead.
Nice and sunny weather in Florida this time of year too bad I freeze my N*tts off in Flint when I visit my significant-O on two wheels.
It's funny how "Joy" can't stand the Airconditioning in the Resturaunts and needs a sweater, yet she loves to ride this time of the year, must be a back-seat thang?
Dayum I just love skooting my boots in the slush and when the flakes are the size of qwuaters it just makes my manhood stand up and salute!
"Just keep ahold of the Saddle-Horn Joy and hold on tight"!
All I can say is, I am in awe. You are a good guy to give up your cage for your family, but -13?? The coldest I have ridden in was 35, but it was sunny and ended up warming up to about 50 - not bad. When I started out I had so many layers of clothes on. I couldn't turn my head easily to see, hands didn't feel secure on the grips and felt as if I couldn't move freely. Cold weather hunting gear and the new high tech wind proof gear helps but there wouldn't be enough layers to keep me warm in those temps. I can not imagine.
I ride because it is something I love to do but I hate being cold. I don't know how cold it was last year during our Xmas toy run, but I was way too cold. At least it wasn't raining like it was the previous year when I wimped out and drove a cage loaded down with toys. Hey, someone had to do it:)
Here is a lovely update the EX's car blew up she now has mine. She has two of my daughter and one grandson that live with her she needs it more than I do. Hope it is a warm winter up here. LOL. Been in the 20s and 30s with rain and snow but I ride on. So if you see a popcicle going down the road a low five will do fine. Ride safe

Re: COLD,,, the only time it's too cold to ride is when you have no Ol Lady to pick up and warm up your nuts when they fall off LOLOL
I think you have bumped your head one too many times. You are suppose to enjoy ridding let the wind blow in your face, not so mersiable, and cold, you can' feel your hands,or any other parts of the body. Anyone who rides in the ice ,snow or just bad weather is STUPID not only are you putting your life in danger but putting a lot of others in harms way also. A bike can not be controled in bad weather like a car, you have no control, if bikes were ment to be riden in snow they would have 4 wheel drive and chains(haha)so be real. and any one who says they are not mesirable riding in those conditions is a lier!!!!!
Ask River here he will tell you it crazy. Stay safe.
In the Inland NorthWest if you arent willing to ride in almost anything you dont ride much (easy for me to say....i'm just a backrest). LOL I have ridden when its 17 degrees. I had so many clothes on I could hardly get on the bike.
