If your on this site, you either have a bike or are interested in bikes. Even if your lookin' for a soul mate, you must want that person to either like bikes, or like your scooter.
So, the topic is: What is your favorite ride? Was it a once in a lifetime trip? Was it a place you return to often? Was it an experience that was made by who you were with and/or the motorcycle ride?
I'll see if this thread gets going, then I'll tell you about one of my favorite rides.

Oh, and if it's a fantasy ride, here's a place to talk about that, too. Maybe it's someplace you intend to go someday or with someone.

So, spill yer guts.

Congrats on the new scooter! I know what you mean! I LOVE MY BIKE too!! I've only been able to put about 400 miles on my new FatBoy since Christmas but the weather will get better soon!!
I can not believe what a big difference there is between it and my 750 Honda Spirit, which I thought was a wonderful bike and thoroughly enjoyed. The Harley is better balanced, smoother, easier to handle in most cases - SWEET RIDE! I did have to have it lowered quite a bit as I am not big gal. Lowering makes it seem longer - it gets a lot of attention. Now I just need to start adding chrome - lol !

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

Favorite ride?
That would be the next ride.
Can't help but think this ride will include a step into the past.'Bout ready to throw a leg over and head up into the Malibu Alps on a 34 year old Honda.

Too many favorites to mention... Got some memorable ones for sure - like the trip back from New Orleans to Central FL on the back of a Nighttrain - OUCH! Or sniffing pine thorough the Ocala forrest & then getting the snezzes that wouldn't stop... But like the rest of you - the next ride is always the best.

My favorite rides have always been with someone I was dating & the ending ride later when we got home has always been the icing on the cake.

Not to be morbid or anything, but the last ride will have to be it as far as favorites. If I can go in my sleep, make it fast & painless the way I love to live. To quote an old boyfriend, "Fast & reckless, all the way!"

Somethings aren't easy to choose...like "favorite ride".
I've done a bit of travelling, from New Orleans to Guatemala, and New Orleans to Milwaukee, and over to Sturgis...but I think my mos' favorite was one I made when I was 20.
I bought a 1949 Ariel 600 single in London for $150, due to no parts or mechanics around; the bike was 1 year older than me, and had a few collector's club stickers on it and 89 miles on the speedo. Size of a Harley, minus 1 cylinder, with a seperate gearbox and spark advance on the bars.
I rode to Amsterdam and saw the first snow in my Texas boy life, and learned how to really kick over a bike in cold weather without breaking any bones.
Then, I rode it , mostly without a working headlight (Lucas electronics) and at the end of the worst winter in 42 years, south to Spain. Did I mention I had a lot of old jackets and jeans to keep me warm enough to live through the ride?
I made it (how?) to Spain, crossed over the Gibralter Straits to Morrocco, and rode to Tangiers where I met a biker dude (from California, liked choppers) who bought it from me for $85 and a backpack. I continued my journey using public transport (donkey carts and trains), and met someone a year later in Israel who rode on the back of that bike, many miles, and gave me my only photo of that awesome bike.
THAT was my favorite ride.

my favorite ride is the 1/4 mile. i love everything about it. the smell of tire smoke and burnt race fuel. the heat and sweating in my leathers while waiting to make my pass. the screams of the motors on the bikes that are running down the lanes or lighting up the tires, doing their burnouts to heat the tires up and gettin' 'em sticky. and then the best part! my time to roll up and smoke my tire and gear up for the run. choose your groove and line up. all of sudden the heat disappears, the people disappear, the noise disappears, you are in the eye of the hurricane of activity going on around you. all you see is a light tree and a finish line. all you hear is your heart thumping in your ears. the lights fall and the clutch engages but you only roll in slow motion. 9 seconds that seem like 90. 90 seconds of peace wrapped up in 9 seconds of chaos. and bam, the finish line, everything snaps back. the noise, the smell, the heat, the sound of the bikes decelerating. i swear i don't even know if i breathe in those nine seconds. and my palms are sweaty and heart is thumping just writing about it.

You will all think Im crazy but on my favorite ride its'pouring rain and we're splittin cars at 120 MPH on a bad arss chopper!! Nothin like that feeling on earth.

Dangerous?? Hello YES, but fun as hello!!!

Of course we cannot ride that way all the time **(I truly understand all the dangers of it and that we risk our lives,,etc bla.. bla.. so I don't need a lecture from anyone)** but those moments that we allow ourselves to throw caution to the wind and live on the wild side??

Those are the thrills that we never forget!!

Dang, Dynamal, kudo's dude for having a great and safe ride. Nights here have been in the 30's, so scootin' out this weekend was a bit nibbly, if you know what I mean. But it was way worth it, beautiful crisp, clear day, great company and that hot, steamy shower after was a bit of bliss, too haha.

Looks like the last one for awhile..winter storm warning on the cape says we may get 8-10 inches of the white stuff tonite ...well guess the snowmobile comes out of hiding...it ain't the same but at least it gets me off the couch..
bummer
march can't come soon enuf

One of the prettiest rides I've taken in Colorado is from Gunnison to Montrose and down to Cortez via Lizard Head pass.
Another is Colorado Springs to Woodland Park to Deckers to Bailey to Fairplay to Hartsell to Colorado Springs.
25 to 80 to 82 to 84 to 90 is a great ride as well.

I don't know if yesterday's ride was a favorite...but it sure was interesting. It was about 34 degrees on the Cape when I headed to pick up my bike at my sisters house..It seemed a little cooler Over the Bridge. The bike really rides nice when it gets cool. I headed for the dealership in beantown thru Randolph and Holbrook ...it was nuts around the south shore plaza in braintree as people are killing each other getting ready to celibrate Christmas.. Now that just doesn't seem right.. It got cooler as the sun ducked behind the clouds.. I really had to pay attention because people in the cars were doing everything but...
I saw the guy driving the explorer..a lady and 2 kids with him...heading for the mall... he was wearin a black flamed sweatshirt... I could see him lookin at me..not like I was crazy...but like he would give anything to be ridin his...sorry Dude...next time. I rode thru the Blue Hills for a few miles. The tree lined road was about 10 degrees colder where the sun could not get thru. Why can't I throw away these old gloves???? My fingers were about to break off...In Quincy people have their houses lit up. Nice... I headed thru Wollaston by the beach and the wind nearly blew me to the other side of the road..Dorchestah to South Boston, my home town, and Castle Island. A quick hello to my Uncle Chicky got me a cup of coffee and a chance to thaw my fingers..and of course, the eye roll that told me that I was a little nuts. I got by traffic at the Bay Side Expo Center that gave drivers another chance to be nasty to each other in time for Christmas.
Back on the highway...the tunnels provided a break from that biting wind that seemed to find any place my leathers didn't cover.. this is boston though....of course the tunnels leak...water and cold = ice.. gotta pay a little extra attention to the road..and the drivers on cell fones with the radio's blastin and their windows rolled up. The tunnels are warm though. I arrived at my destination Boston Harley...guess what..other bikes were there...mostly singles...who'd a thought I'd be ridin in Boston on December 3rd?? How cool is that???? If I have to explain....ya wouldn't understand...
It's snowin' here this morning so the purple color will get a chance to leave my thighs..and I can get feeling back in my fingers. I do have to bring the dog for a run in the bogs...I won't complain even a little bit when she sticks her head out the window to feel the wind...I understand completely.

Hmmm... Okay... a favorite fantasy ride... I'll give it a shot!

Up at dawn with a steaming cup of coffee. Getting all my gear together and picking out something a little sexy to wear, not too bold, a bit more soft and subtle.

Walking outside in the crisp morning air to an inviting seat on the back of comfy, long-arse-haulin':) bike. Moving slowly and surely behind a man who's warm heart and adventurous nature gets me even more excited for the ride to begin.

We glide down a beautiful, back road, filled with hills and valleys that you can see for miles. I feel the warmth of the sun and the kiss of the wind on my face. The hills and curves are manuevered as expertly as a musician plays his chosen instrument. Then the cresceno builds as we approach a section of twisties. A fresh rush of adrenelin and I find myself grinning from ear to ear, eyes open wide.

Then, we come to a straight stretch of road and his body relaxes against me. He reaches back and his hand presses gently on my thigh. We slowly pull over to an open area, where we know there is a stream nearby.

Hot day, Hot ride, Skinny Dippin' Yeah, buddy ! haha

That was what i was trying to quote,,,,,,,Still think this stuff is Magic!!!!!
