Remember that song.. UNANSWERED PRAYERS???

Being alone is not that bad. When you are alone, you don't have to put up with anyone else's crap. I know you heard this one before but... be secure and learn to be happy without anyone else. I think as you get older it's harder to adjust to being around someone else. You become set in your ways.

justyforya...i've been on my own for years and years. i spent 4 of those totally engrossed in my house and kids, nothing else. plenty of time to appreciate being alone, and got myself together pretty well i think. then when i do start to date, i find people our age still playing the games from high school. i just don't understand.

I'm curious, is there a "limit" to how long posts should be on here or what they should be about? I certainly wouldn't want to be violating some code of ethics.

I'm on numerous other Net forums on various topics and even run a few of my own, and all have different guidelines. I haven't found anything here that gives specifics as to what is allowed and what is not.

Can someone enlighten me?

FrenchGypsy, words to live by sweetness!!

A MAN A BOY AND A DONKEY!

An old man, a boy & a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey & the old man walked. As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking & the boy was riding.

The man & boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.

Later, they passed some people that remarked, "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk."

They then decided they both would walk! Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey.

Now they passed some people that shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey.

The boy & man said they were probably right, so they decide to carry the donkey. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal & he fell into the river and drowned.

The moral of the story?

If you try to please everyone, you might as well...
Kiss your aRss good-bye.

You post whateva u like!!!

Cool story, good advice, Nor Cal rocks

I've just went thru something similar.
We can't let it break our spirit. None
of us want to grow old alone. We all
want someone to share it with. Don't
ever give up on the "happily ever
after" fairy tale. Remember, "God
bless the broken road" its a great
song.
After I knew the relationship was over,
I also knew I was supposed to learn
something from it. I also wondered why
I even needed that lesson at my age.
(maybe a refresher course lol) But it
changed me, made me stronger. Made me
realize, its time to make the changes
in my life that I've put off for so
long. I'm a better person for it. And
I know if I keep looking, I run the
risk of it happening again. We all do.
But I believe in happiness. Its out
there somewhere.

Being alone is not that bad. When you are alone, you don't have to put up with anyone else's crap. I know you heard this one before but... be secure and learn to be happy without anyone else. I think as you get older it's harder to adjust to being around someone else. You become set in your ways.

i have no idea what everyone else is looking for in a relationship, nor do i care. relationships are like bikes....especially harley's. you can have 2 identical bikes, but they run different...why? who knows......you just keep trying em until you find the one that no matter what the problems are, you just have to have it no matter what anyone says. it took me 20 years to find my perfect bike....i guess it may take me another 20 of trial and error to find the right woman to ride with me......but its something i am willing to go through, i wont settle.....again.

Blue
I agree 100% with that. What goes around surely will come back on you 10 times fold. Everything that happens to us is for sure a learning experience. just makes me wiser and smarter, hopefully the right one will come along.

My thoughts exactly!
friends rock. The bs I have seen online has been positively scary. I think, make some friends who share riding...and then ...forget the online stuff.

ITS NOT JUST MEN THAT DO THIS ITS WOMEN ASWELL IT JUST PROVES THAT THEY ARE IMMATURE AND INSECURE WITHIN THEMSELVES AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE ONE DAY THEY WILL GROW UP AND AT THE END OF THE DAY THEY SAY WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND SO MAYBE WHEN THEY FIND SOMEONE THEY REALLY LIKE AND WANT TO BE WITH THE SAME MIGHT HAPPEN TO THEM
