sometimes i feel sooooo old all men look younger and then i get on my bike and dont care how old i am or that i am on my own because i can still ride my bike but i prefer men my own age or close to because they already trained lol (not meaning to disrespect anyone) but sometimes people can be set in their ways as well and older men or my age expect me to be less practical and more sexy and then i run and hide, because it makes me sad...
sorry thats a bit depressing isnt it lol

and to be with a younger person of the opposite gender is good for a short time but depending on the age gap society will always frown upon the ages so to me a lass that is close to my age is the best way not only the age but they seem to know wot they want in a man and a younger one is still fining out what they want

Frowning society doesn't bother me. I am weird in a good kind of way and 'society' will group think as it will. Being true to ones self and being good to all and sundry is a rewarding life inho.
I loved how you use the word lass, reminds me of Ireland.
And, what i have experienced as well as heard from others: The micorcosm that is created by 2 people is special to them. Anyone outside of that circle never knows exactly how the couple are inside of that. That is one way that others can have difficulty understanding the dynamics from the outside. With an age difference, you know how there can be many minor glitches with knowing the music, politics, history, current events of the age, hairslyes, even nomenclature and slang can be different. This can create frustration and a feeling of unwanted distance.
Donthcha' think?

Saw the other thread name and couldn't help starting this one.
I have dated guys as much as 12 years younger.
Yound at heart and wise and healthy can happen at almost any age. Just a number...

DD

Good for you. I have dated women 30 years younger. Do tell

I'm not so sure I'd admit that if I were you!
30 years younger?
I've heard of 20 yrs makin' it or around such, usually with an affluent man and a needy woman, but for me the younger man thing is definateley entertaining either trouble or a babysitting situation -of course a few years doesn't really make a diff- but 10 +?
Makes you kind of wonder what you are looking for.....
I guess in the end tho, all anyone ever wants is to be happy, right?
To each their own.

Don't worry about me so much. I can handle it. I didn't mean a LTR, just dating casually at times. Like DD said
" Age is just a number." Some people just click and have fun. Others sit around and complain.
You are only old as you want to be.

Hehehe.. Funny!

DD, well...eh...I'm still young yet! I'm only 21...er...51...and one of us has to qualify for AARP! **laffin**

no V we're not 51--we are celebrating the 25th aniversary of our 25th birthday

**lol** I've always start my counting from 21. **lol** As in 21 for the 30th time!

that is a good way also!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I'll be 21 again in Januarey...for the 31st time! **lol**

and i'll meet you in march

Ah..we're getting old, Peg! **lol**tongie-in-in-cheek humor**

nahhhhh we will never get old if we don't let ourselves

to me old means i become so fixed in my ideas that i close myself off to the newness of things that change in the world
things in life change and when we become the oak tree we no longer bend with the wind--while the willow flows and remains standing after lifes storms

sooooooo V we all need to go with the flow

Peg, time is relative...no pun intended...and I feel better at this age than I did 20 years ago.

I'll meet you both in the summer and my tree would be a quaking aspen. They shimmer in the sun.

I've always been around younger men; the last relationship was a 12 year difference, but only in numbers, not in life experiences. I think it's more important to share the same values & interests and perhaps the same generation. A (male) friend recently suggested I try an older man, says the younger ones are "just trouble." Maybe....???

All joking aside, you're right. Age is unimportant. As long as the shared values, interests (somewhat), the compatibility, and that spark are there, among a few other things...then there are possibilities.
