HarleyChic1 write: I have an 14 year old African Gray parrot - "he's very cool" he repeats just about everything he hears. He sounds just like me too when he talks. He makes all kinds of noises (the microwave, the p.hone, car alarms, any kind of noise - I'm on dial up so he learned to make the sound of the computer dialing up "it's hysterical")
I also have an Umbrella Cockatoo, she's also 14yrs old - I had to give her to my cousin when I had my neck surgery, because she want's to be held 24/7 and she's alot of work, I just couldn't take care of her. So she lives with my cousin now and I have visitation rights whenever I want to see her. He loves her and I felt bad taking her back - I know she has a good home so I'm not worried about her. He said I can have her back when ever I want. "now I don't have room for her." Maybe if I buy a house - I'll have to see.
I had a flying squirrel that I raised from a baby. I found him in the back yard - my ex's dog grabbed him. I had to feed him with a baby bottle. I left him with my ex when we split along with my cat. My landlord said "no cats" and I didn't think he'd appreciate me bringing the squirrel home with me so I had to leave them. "I felt really bad about leaving them" I don't even know if he still has them. That's the sad part.
I had to give away a Dove once. . . she started cooing at 4 am always and the bf at the time didn't like it and when I put the cage outside (was summer) so I could get some sleep the neighbors didn't like it. I had "visitation" rights too but did not go--too sad.

I love the picture! Too cute!!
I myself have a Lhasa Apso. She's almost 2 years old... Princess Nesa, and she earned her title well!! LOL!! I don't have a pic since I'm still out here in Colorado and she's back in Ohio. I miss her!
Awwwwww, I had a Lhasa Apso too and her name was Buttons. I got her when I was about 10. They are awesome dogs except when she used to go swimming in the creek and rolled in the sand with that long hair. . . my mom used to get sooo mad.

I could not spend time with her (the parrot) and gave her to someone that had the time. Great bird though, Had her 12 years.
People don't realize sometimes how fun and intelligent birds can be--I hear that all the time. I didn't know myself until I spent time with a bird owner. I am allergic to cats and dogs so I was glad to find an affectionate pet that blends well with an active lifestyle.

I would be keeping bread close by if it were me.
BTW, where is Muldrow?
Muldrow is a quaint little place, by passed by the interstate about 20 miles from Ft. Smith, AR. An economically depressed area; each of the three cafes now carry a set of false teeth, for the customers that can't afford their own. One of the main pastimes is to sit sipping coffe and watching the teeth be passed around the room. LOL
I think I need to come watch that!!! That ain't right, uuugggghhhh
I know, Weenie...I was just having a visual of this!
