There is no nite life, short of smoking cuban cigars with the old folks and an occasional game of shuffleboard for those active bikers. The only music they have in Florida is Gloria Estafan and if you want to dance, you have to learn salsa. There is no entertainment, no biking events, but there are thousands of bugs who especially love tender skin like yours. There are no animals because they are too miserable there and there is no room to play ball. There are wild crocs all over the place and I've heard that they will bite your pecker off if your not careful so make sure you don't pee outside!

Curley....WOW...you must be something special if you can tell someone about a place you aren't even in...isn't that called "making an ASS-u-mption" ??

Cobalt honey, you come on down to the south babe...we'll show you women who speak what they know about and are sweeter than the iced tea!

Weenie....didn't we need another activity on our Biketoberfest Itinerary? Ambassadors for Florida???

.

hmmmmmm...Turtle....not a bad idea, aahhmmm, excuse Mr. Cobalt...Welcome to the sunny state of Florida...if you are around during biktoberfest...please let us know...have a few staying at my house and....I think you would be welcome!!

Yeah...yeah...yeah....Colbalt... what Weenie said...there are tons of cool peeps on here and lots of them in FL...good opportunity for you to get broke in!

NOpe, not special at all. Just having a lot of trouble being dumped and letting go. He's a beautiful man and I guess I just don't want him to leave.

Curly...sorry for the "slap" I threw at ya....know how it hurts...but sometimes we need to let go and not make a butt our of ourselves. Hope you heal fast. Treasure the memories....don't make nightmares!

Yes, West Palm Beach Florida. Being from San Diego, I have heard about alligators and crocadiles, are they really a concern? Or do they stay away from people? Any concern for the dogs?
I also heard not to wear anything shiney in the ocean because of Barracuda. """"""""""""""""""""""""""""
Gators stay in the swamps, not many around salt water, they will catch a dog on occasion. Croc's are very rare down here and I never heard of a Barracuda attacking anyone, shark attacks are extremely rare, you hear of two or three a week statewide with millions of people in the water on a daily basis. There's a huge demand for qualified construction Super's. My company will put you to work tomorrow. Lot's of nice country roads out west for scooterpootin.

Thanks speedyjerry,
My Company has a big job out there. I specialize in the MEP trades and start up and commissioning. Thanks for all the info. I meet with the powers to be next week and will more than likely fly out there to check it out in a few weeks. What kind of construction do you do?

What else you wanna know? There's bikenites everywhere all week long between here, 35 miles north, and Lauderdale. What kind of work do you do?.

Thanks speedyjerry,
What is there to do? Clubs, recreation, entertainment (concerts), Paces to see, etc.
I am a MEP Coordinator for a General Contractor, essentially Construction Management dealing with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Subcontractors.

We are talking about West Palm Beach, Florida, it's the center of the universe. You can do anything except mountain climb and snow ski!...........
35 minutes north of Miami Beach, 200 miles south of Daytona Beach. The biggest and best of everything is within minutes of West Palm. Major Concerts every week of all types of music, Moroso Motorsports Park has all types of racing all week long, art festivals everywhere. You like Fishing? Bahama's is 75 miles east.

I have to agree with Curlyrider on many points, The chamber of commerce paints a pretty picture of Florida with Flamingo's everywhere, makes you think Florida is some tropical paradise.
Yeah Right!
Disneyworld Sux after the second time you stand in line an hour for one ride and unless you have a masters in Politician, you can bet some Mexican will do what you do for six dollas an hour.
But what the hey move here an find out for yourself, they say those who move here, die here!

Peace

I am considering a job oppurtunity in West Palm Beach. I have been on the west coast for most of my life and know nothing about Florida besides hurricanes. I've been in San Diego for years. What can anyone tell me about the place that does not show up on the chamber of commerce web site for West Palm Beach? I really know nothing about Florida. Thanks.

Housing is very expensive here. Watch what part of county you move to, unless you have guns and ammo. Traffic a b*itch sometimes. Alot of things to do. I hope you like very flat country. Can you speak Spanish??
