Molly Z, not everyone that gets exposed to the sun gets skin cancer.

I think it is in the genes and that goes for looking like a piece of of leather also. Methinks there are a lot of things that get overblown and make people afraid. You see a lot of info about wearing the most potent sun block you can get, even in Seattle which has its share of cloudy days.

Having said that, doesn't mean that I don't keep a close eye on the old body because I have spent a LOT of time in the sun, at high altitude, and on snow fields over the years without using sunscreen. Use clown white on the nose and ears to keep them from burning.

From the time I've spent in the sun I should be all wrinkled up, but I'm not. People usually think I'm 50, but I'm NOT. By all rights I should be all wrinkled and shrivelled up, but I'm not. Not to say I don't have a few wrinkles, because that comes with being around for a few years.

Perhaps genes do have something to do with it or perhaps exposure builds up an immunity. I'm not sure of anything except that I've had extreme exposure all my life and don't have that stuff and don't wear ANY sunscreen. I can get pink in a day and then have it change to a tan.

Clyde

Tan Lines? Yeah I have Tan lines. I look like I'm from the Red Neck Riviera with deep tanned arms neck and face. The rest of me is white as snow.

My husband died of skin cancer... and while I do agree that a tanned body looks nicer,,,, I'm as white as the day I was born... almost. Have to go with no tan lines... although I have always admired how nice that little coppertone kid looked with her tan lines! and no... I am talkin about the tan... and not the kid herself... sheesh always have to explain ourselves in here!

Well, since I live in the skin cancer capital of the world, I prefer no tan lines on myself. My life is more important than looking like a leather sofa.
