I think those of us who ride share a common ground.
We know what it feels like to jump on our ride and to be free in the wind, breeze blowing out the cobwebs.
It is hard for people who don't ride to understand the feeling that we get when we are free in the breeze.
I grew up on Harley's,its the only bike out there for me!Some of the people i ride with have other makes nice bikes.Ya know on the same hand I have people on Honda's and other rides say crap like I'll ride behind so I can pick up your parts my bike lost the horn cover in front of one of them beep beep!LOL....I dont care what you ride I care what I ride!!Be safe and enjoy!!!!!!
Yeah, I'm definately with you here, Angel. The funny thing too is that it's been my experience that most of these people who look down on those who ride anything but harleys are lucky if they put 1,000 miles a year on their harleys. Right, someone who rides 1,000 miles a year or less on a harley is gonna think that someone who rides 20,000 miles a year on something other then a harley is not a 'real biker'. In fact I've also found that people who have harleys and actually ride them rarely if ever have an attitude towards someone for riding a 'jap' bike. They understand that it's about riding and enjoying it, not thinking 'I'm better then you because I have a harley'.
Hope you have been safe and getting good riding weather in ,,, speedjerry,,,,
It has been nice here and last couple days I have been getting some riding in,,,letting the breeze clean out the cobwebs!!!
AMEN Truth....I had to give myself a good talking to down in FL....sitting outside at a bar listenin to the band...I looked around at the bikes...all were Harleys..I thought, geeze I'd feel inferior riding my Thunder here. So then I started telling myself the truth....wtf Char, you are riding...you are in the wind...you have a beautiful scoot...you chose it for a reason..no shame in it at all...NO SHAME...none of these riders are any more or less of a biker them you CHAR!!! AMEN sista I say.
I don't think it matters what you ride, or how you ride it, just being out ther with your knees in the breeze is what it's all about. I try not to criticize others unless I can relate to their point of view. I once watched a guy on a rice rocket tease another guy at a Dairy Queen because he pulled up on a Harley Trike, not because it was a Harley, but because it was a trike (not a REAL bike). He thought he was pretty clever until the guy on the trike, without saying a word in his own defense, reached around and unstrapped his wheelchair from the opposite side of his ride.
This isn't directed at anyone in particular because I love and respect you all, just call it a shared life lesson. Be careful what you poke fun at, because it could very well be that the only one who will look foolish in the end is yourself.
Nuff said.
And NO, I sure as hell wasn't the big mouth on the rice burner.
