Um , I was just reading my sweety's input here and I am going to be politically incorrect and honest. Two of my less endearing traits .
Can a man be just friends with a woman . Yes , but only if there is NO physical attraction . I can be friends with a heavy woman or and older woman or an unattractive woman and the friendship will be true , it is the beautiful ones you can't just be friends with . Deep down guys are just biding thier time and waiting for that special opportunity .
Can men and women really be just friends or riding buddies?
NO Only if you were Friends with that person growing up!
My Personal Opinion if there is someone you always like to ride with or Pal around with- -
10-1 you have an attraction for them and sooner or later the (2) of you will get curious and cross that line! Jade

Spyder--please don't think that way!!!! we all have a partner out there--the fun is in the search!!!!!
Seems to be my problem too. I ride mostly with guys and I guess now I am one of the guys. Dang, what signal am I sending??? Do I look like one of the guys??
LTR: You 're kidding, right? You definitely look like one of the girls! Your personality is 'Versatile' baby!

Wish I was kidding! I'll admit that I'm a bit of a tomboy, always have been. I am versatile, thanks DD.

Silver,
Know what you mean about the age thing, I'm 7 years older than my boyfriend. It use to bother me, until I paid attention to the fact that his maturity level was right there with mine! LOL After that, no bother!
Now about the friends thing: I have to agree with everyone,TRUE FRIENDS..ROCK!But I have always kept my male friends just that....friends only. I'm not good at crossing the line & remaining "just friends" after. I guess I'm a typical female..my heart tends to get involved & that screws up everything!!
Also, I remember when I first got divorced....that first time relationship....difficult. Dumba$$ me....just got my wings & here I was wanting to get them clipped. DUH.
But my male friends were there to give me advise & kid me for being so "female"! LOL
If this guy is your saving grace right now.....just go with it. Let him be your friend. Play it my ear & ENJOY YOUR LIFE & FREEDOM!! BTW....I agree with everyone too re: I hope I look as good as you when I'm your age. I'm not far behind ya though. So let all these compliments boost your ego & self confidence. We women can be very critical of each other..but on the other hand, we can be honest too.
silver_rider92 write: I seem to have found a riding companion that is interested in just that. He's a doll. We go to rides and functions, he's a gentleman, calls when he says, etc. We always laugh and have a good time. He is MC mech. I had tires put on my bike when I ran into him(I had seen him before)when I was married, but now I'm divorced. I asked him if he was married, he said "no", I asked him if he wanted to go riding sometime, he said "yes". We met, talked more, he gave me a bunch of flyers with events and wanted to go the next day. He just hasn't displayed much affection. So far, I'm willing to let it go because it's better to get to know someone. When I see him, I just want to ride everywhere! I told him I had to start school and couldn't see him so much. He seemed bummed out, and said he would look for events around the holidays that we could go to. He is tall, dark hair, beard, handsome. Could it be that we just get along and he just wants to ride? He is also 13 yrs. my jr. That kinda bothers me, but he has never asked my age. So hey guys, what's up? I'm thinking I should just enjoy his company and let the rest go. He is a saving grace right now in my life.
I understand what you say!
One of this friend of mine (she name's Barbara) ride always with me!!! She is 15 years old than me, but it's not a problem...
We go everywhere here in Italy...and sometimes we meet in the evening too.
I love her, but she's just a friend...a GOOD friend!
I have 5 brothers. Most of my best friends ...are men. My closest dearest friend is a man. He's my Will and I'm his Grace.
Enjoy it..don't push anything if you're having fun..you've already found something beautiful.
Silver, go for it Sweetheart. Mayber her is just shy..If he says he likes your veiw, he is interested...Plan a romantic evening, dinner, candles, invite him over. Tell him how you feel, quit beating around the bush...Good luck, I think it will work out,,he just might me one of the sensitive, shy types like me...LOL
Silver I have several male "friends" that are riding buddies. Like Seeme said, since we all enjoy riding we have a common interest which is the reason most people join this site in the first place. We want to meet others who enjoy riding too. Getting together and riding with friends to rallies, bike weeks or just weekend rides is what it is all about. I love my friends and would be lost without them. Friends make the world go around. :) Enjoy your friendship for what it is. If it turns into more than that then you know it was meant to be. Good relationships start out with great friendship. I wish you luck and in the meantime, keep it in the wind and enjoy the adventure.
