Hiya Falcon sweetie...sounds like you wont even make it to the border..no worries..there's always next year

For some strange reason, I think if I went through Ohio this year, that I'd likely be hitched before I could leave, and then I'd have a partner on the back for the trip. Just something about all those shotguns pointed at ya that'll get ya thinking that way.

I love a challenge, milady. And I got to go back through there on the way home...if you ladies let me out of the state, that is. Let's see, 2 days with each of you Ohio ladies....damn! Better leave next Monday, else I won't get there. And no fair trying to win my heart by detailing my bike or tying me up. And no gang tackles. Someone always gets hurt.....man I love Ohio.....

DScoot , can I get in with a passport and a drivers license ? That is all the id I have .

    Bear,
I checked with the powers at be today and SoftTail has it right. Certified Birth Certificate and photo ID (drivers license) for Canada & Mexico till December 2006, all other countries will require passports after December 2005. Now get this ..... ANY airplane or boat travel will require a passport after December 2007. New Passports are running $97.00 and you gotta wait 6 to 8 weeks to get it !! "Can't wait, Gotta Go Passports" are available in 14 days but it'll set you back an additional $60.00
But it sounds like you're already set Bear. If I wasn't going to Americade next week AND Canada for the 4th of July Weekend, I'd love to join you and pick-up LadyOnABike enroute !!
    Have a Great & Safe Trip !!

    .

and if you have a hudson county or jersey city birth certificate they will not issue a passport---you will need to get a certified copy from trenton

Just a word of caution to you BK guys & gals heading over the border, they've tightened the requirements for border crossing and they now require a birth certificate and 2 forms of picture ID. They told me on my last crossing that they actually prefer a passport.
My family has had a cabin on a island in Newboro Lake (Ontario) since the 70s and crossing the border was always a relaxed situation, but that all changed on 9-11.

Also, I'm not sure how it is to bring things into Canada, IE: meat, fruit, any kind of food stuff: But i do know you are not allowed to bring anything back into the States: IE: Meat & fruit. because of several disease like Mad Cow....If you want american beer make sure you bring it with you...but then again Canadian beer is so much better and has more alcohol..it will kick your as*s if your not careful...

Its easier to get into canada than it is to get out! The problem is the American side. I grew up on the canadian border and never had as much trouble as it is now. Friends i went to school with act as if they dont even know you. Sad, but true. And copies wont do...you need orginals. a birth certificate is not as acceptable as a licence because you can get a birth certificate from any county clerk. Your best bet it to get a passport.
