MY BEAUTIFUL ADOPTED STATE OF COLORADO! NO HELMET LAW! but as far as helmet hair (i lived for years in states w/ helmet laws) i agree with many others....get over it and let it go-once you get into serious riding (long distance, group rides or solo)you get over "how i look" attitude and actually start to embrace "i know i look like hell, but aren't you jealous you didn't get off a bike after riding 500 miles" look! It's NOT the destination (& what u look like) it's the journey! although i actually know of women with curling irons at campsites at sturgis & other rally's. oh well, whatever makes you happy...
Live with it! If you are going to ride, you are going to have helmet hair.. at least here in California. I just keep lots of detangler and conditioner on the shelf and have a heavy duty hairbrush, lol.
A couple of the ladies in the bike club I belong to wear the long hair in a braid and use a leather wrap that snaps up the back. It keeps the hair clean and under control and also loks pretty damn hot IMHO. As for helmet head? Live with it, you're a biker FFS.
Yes, that is true but if I am not mistaken, in the last 10 years we have seen a lot more states repeal the helmet law than enact it. Of course there are laws for minors/new riders etc but in the seasoned riders over 21 catagory there are more states with out the law now than there was in 1995, Right?
I know that North Carolina has legislation up that if passed will change our strick Helmet Law. I cant wait, LOL.
There are only 2 states left that have NO helmet law - Colorado is one of them. All other states have at least an under 18 law. But that's where it starts! And if you don't have somebody watching the boys on the "Hill", you will have a full helmet law before you know it. If you want to keep your right to not wear a helmet, learn about and/or join ABATE or MRF (they lobby Congress in Washington DC JUST for this reason, or join any MRO (Motorcycle Rights Organization)in your state.
I've been a member for 12 years - and THAT is what I did about helmet hair!
HopeFloats write: There aren't many of those States left are there? I know where I live, in Maine, there isn't a helmet law ...yet, as long as you aren't a new rider. I don't believe there's a law in my neighboring State of New Hampshire, either. How many other States do NOT have a helmet law? Please tell me. illinois no helmet law
Phaedrus262 !!! If I turn the lights off I wont see where I am going? If I hang on to my own ponytail???s? Who???s going to be holding onto my handlebars? Hmmmmm You talk of gravity. Hopefully we will always keep rubber side down.
Turn off the lights and no one will know you have helmut hair.
Put in a ponytail to provide an additional place to hang on to
Grow it long, ride the top and dangle it in his face, gravity will do the rest.
