I'm a non-smoker, but can tolerate a girl who smokes so long as she is very considerate about it.
And, so long as she is capable of ah, "aerobic exercise" without needing a smoke break in the middle of things..
I don't mind if someone smokes,
I stopped smoking 3 months ago,, cold turkey,,just decided that was it,, I go to the gym every day and it doesn't bother me not to smoke or to be around it.

I am a smoker and man it is hard to quit. Every time I have I think just one and thats all, well needless to say that doesn't work. I have dated non smokers and I find it is easy to go with out a cig when with someone who doesn't smoke, I will step outside to have my smoke if I really need one.
As for the no smoking in public, here in Illinois they have talked about it but so far it has not passed. If it ever does may be it will give me the courage to quit and stay quit... doubt it but ya never know LMAO
I stopped smoking ciggies the day before the 12th year of my Mum's death (17 Feb 1993)..and all I smoke now is a cigar.
Bars here in CA have banned smoking totally..and even on some beaches..and within 20 feet of an open doorway!
It wouldn't bother me if my partner or date smoked though.
I would have a hard time with the issue if I owned a bar or restaurant. I think the easiest and best thing to do is for the gov't to keep their nose out of it, first of all. All that really needs to be done is have each business post a sign on the front door as to whether it is a smoking or non-smoking business, and if you don't smoke, don't go in the businesses that allow it. If you do smoke and go into a business that doesn't allow it, you have to wait until you get outside to light up. As a business owner, I am not sure I would like the local gov't telling me how to run my business. Most local govt's can even run themselves properly!
I smoke now and then depending on whom I'm dating. I respect the other person's space if they don't smoke then I won't. But then I'm a bartender and in Pennsylvania it's still okay to smoke in public places. I get lots of second hand smoke anyway.
NY has banned smoking in all bars, restaurnts and for that matter any building. You can smoke herbal ciggerttes...go figure...I am a non smoker but i dont think the govt has the right to tell a business owner who owns the building they cant let someone smoke in it...JUST NOT RIGHT!!! Now would i date a smoker...just hand him lots of gum...LOL
You can still smoke in most bars here too long as they don't have a kitchen, many built outside covered areas after seeing tremendous loss in revenue's. Some places folded up and closed after they passed that law.
They banned smoking here in Columbus recently. Most of the bars are fighting back. There is something on the ballot for the may elections to have it modified that if a place makes at least 65% of their income from alcohol they can allow smoking. what a few bars have done here is either go private, $5 a month to join, or are outright ignoring the ban and renting ashtrays to help pay any fines. I smoke, and can go without long enough to go into a place and eat, and when I drink I do most of my drinking at home so that's not a problem either.
Smokin s u c k s, I use to quit often in the 70's, go a week or two without at will. Over the decade's that's got harder to do as they increase the levels of nicotine and additives, now It's hard to go two friggin hours without one, lol. Two years ago Florida banned smoking in restaurants and gave them six months to comply. I use to go to Outback twice a week, they banned it the first day and the bartenders thought it was cool. Bar manager was a cute gal I joked with all the time until she said she could have waited four months for the ban but decided to just do it now so she wouldn't have to smell the smoke no more, my last time there. Many bars and restaurants have since opened outdoor covered areas for smokers since and some people come outside to bitch about the smoke too, funny.
i don't smoke anymore---stopped cold turkey in 87--most of the time it doesn't bother me to be around someone who smokes, although once in awhile it does--especially around food
