"The special gift a woman has to give"

Women have the sensitivity to love their children unconditionally and under any circumstances, even when their children disappoint them. What a gift!

There is no love in the world more absolute than a mother's love for her child. No matter what our children do, we want to protect them. It doesn't matter what mistakes they make, we believe they can still get it right.

What a gift you are to the world. By being steadfast and unconditional in your love, you help your children recover from their mistakes and gain the courage to face future hurdles.

You give them the strength and tenacity to become some of the world's most valuable adults - just like you knew they would.

ANGEL....I DIDN'T APPRECIATE WHO MY MOM WAS UNTIL I HAD GROWN CHILDREN OF MY OWN NOW MY MOM IS MY BEST FRIEND!
MY DAUGHTER AND I CAN BE GREAT AND THEN BANG...I'LL SAY SOMETHING AND IT'S ALL MY FAULT...TRUST ME...IT'S AN UP AND DOWN THING WITH MOTHERS AND DAUGHTERS. YA DAMNED IF YOU DO AND YOUR DAMNED IF YOU DON'T....HOLD THE FAITH....IT ALL WORKS OUT.......FOR ME, I HAVE TO LEARN TO FORGIVE MYSELF FOR NOT ALWAYS DOING THE RIGHT THING IN THE PAST....THEN US NOT TALKING AT TIMES WOULDN'T HURT SO MUCH...AND AFTER ALL THAT EMOTION IT WORKS OUT ANYWAY! GO FIGURE!

angel....my daughter and i are close at the moment, but there are times we can be very distant to each other....i think it's a mother/daughter thing.....i wonder sometimes if they see us as what they are to become, and we see them as what we use to be....but i do know, when all hell breaks loose, they know we are thier moms and we are just a call away no matter what.....i think that might be how they survive by knowing without a doubt and when needed, we will be there.....i dunno----it's like that with me and nicole anyway, especially in the relationship department more then other things......to the point i feel like smacking her up the side of the head...but she will learn, as we all did and do the hardway unfortunetly.....but every day she grows stronger and stronger and more independent.........

Bea and Seeme, thank you both so much for the nice words! Unfortunately, my daughter and I aren't as close as we should be right now! I regret that, but both of my children are fine young adults! My son has had many adversities in his short 28 yrs. I'm thankful to God and all the powers that be that he's "grown" so well!

angel....i read what you wrote about your son and you...thoes are some heartfelt tears arn't they....i saw my son cry twice (excluding funerals), the first was when i had to tell him his dad was going to die, and he said he would never love anyone again....well time moves on and they grow up...one day he was 18, and he came down the stairs with tears rolling down his face and told me that chris (his one forever love), and broken up with him...i held him and tried to say all the things a parent says, but it tore my heart out....i don't think there is anything worse then having your children cry....your son sounds like a wonderful guy, you did a good job with him.............

My son just left me to go back home to Arkansas..we had the MOST wonderful week together! Last night as he was laying on the couch watching TV, I laid down beside him with my head resting on his shoulder and he wrapped his big ole bear arms around me and held me close! I told him "who would have thought when I was holding you in my arms 28 yrs ago that 28 yrs later that you would be holding me in yours!" He softly whispered "I love you Mommy". I looked up and he was crying and I, of course, was crying...we hung on to each other for dear life!
I sent him home today early trying to keep him ahead of the hurricane that is coming in on the Gulf side..he has to drive right through there...he's called me several times to let me know he's safe and each time has told me over and over how much he loves me! This fine young beautiful man that is probably my only claim to fame! Thank God...if I could only do one thing right, I'm glad it was him!

TN, you take care in all this bad weather headed for you all! My thoughts and my prayers are with us all! Love, my family!!! Angel

ANGEL, I THINK THAT IS SUCH A BLESSING TO HAVE THAT KIND OF QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR CHILD! I MISS THAT WITH MY OLDEST....BUT ANYTIME MY KIDS TELL ME THEY LOVE ME THERE'S NO LOVE THAT CAN OUT DO THAT!
