I trust my best girlie with my life. It's a great feeling.
On a different note, I heard a funny little quote recently about friends of the opposite gender: "Some I've done, some I'd never do, and some I may do again! Hee hee! Happy Trails!
"OMG Speedy... remember that conversation we had.. you asked me if i knew what a "good buddy" was... lol"
Funny it was back then, 70's, after the Burt Reynolds movies and Trucking songs with all that Good Buddy this and that. Every mom and pop got them a cb radio and invaded the "World of Truckers" That became their first line of defense, "Don't call me no Good Fckn Buddy"
JULES write: I have a true friend that has always been there for me. We live in NC and my son was in a serious car accident a few days before Christmas in Florida. As I drove to Florida I called her at 1030 at night she was in Florida at my son's bedside with me at 8 am. She placed her plans for Vegas on hold knowing that I needed her. I have also been there for her in her rough times and always will be. I am truly blessed having a friend like her and when my son was better thank goodness he told her how much it meant to him that she came down to Florida. This is a true friend and someone I will always cherish
Jules, you are truly blessed! I have a few friends like that! My bestest guy bud is Bikeman! I have soooo many bestest girl buds..and they all know who they are! I tell them everytime I talk to them how much I love them and how thankful I am to God and all the powers that be for them!
Thanks Angel I know how blessed I am and it sounds like you are as well
Wow what a f&ckin thread!
It started as a friendship thing and the that hate thing came into it! LMFAO and ROTFLing...
I do it like this:
Aquaintences... you know those folks that you run into at the local store you know little more about each other than the rumour mill churns out!A friendly smile, a nod , a handshake and How Ya doin How ya doin!
Friends : you ve drank at the same bar, went to school together, exchange jokes , a lsap on the back. You tell each other some jokes, gossip abot the "aquaintences" and talk some shop, Hows the job going? You and whats her name still together..etc
Then my fine folk ther are my brothers and sisters, the folks that you have gotten the dck in the dirt with. Backed each other in fights, gotten each other out of fights , thrown their bail . They know your secrets and they know your pains, and they would stay by you when you brake down on the road in the rain. They know your enemies and they know your friends and will treat them as either just because you say so!
I got a handful of them! And we all went our own ways over the yeras, but we could get together tommorrow and feel the same bond as ten years ago!
Well thats the way it works for me!

My brother was told he was losing many of his friends while he was going through a bad divorce and hard times........His reply to them:" I'm not losing friends, I'm just finding out who my friends really are"
A true friend not only accepts you for who you are including your faults but also can tell you the truth whether you like it or not, agree with it or not, but no matter what they say it is because they truly do have your best interests at heart. And sometimes that's more than we can do for ourselves.
..........i agree with wingrider1 and back home i do have a few friends that i would actually put my life on the line for. I hope that before long i might meet someone here that i Might consider a true friend.
