Hi From Downunder- I am curious how there seems to be so much difference between aussie bikers and those in the U.S. We all share a passion for our bikes and the lifestyle, but I have noticed that most of my responses and those that appeal most to me come from guys in the States. Here in Oz they just dont seem to get it!!! can anyone throw some light on why i think I should be in the states.......
well yes there is a big difference from what I see, the Americans seem to be more about brand and show, less about actual riding..no guessing which one..lol
I ride too much to own one, just to work is 230k's one way, rain hail or shine its the bike, yes i wear full leathers too as i ride the mountains almost all the way, then on weekends ride with my club or do a track day or do advanced sport rider training with students.
I can understand the "Biker Culture" its a lifestyle, but I'm more into the actual riding and the bikes are only a tool, yes I have owned HD's and they were not particularly sharp tools.
I suppose it depends on what you call a biker too, the lifestyle or the rider?
I think of myself as a "Biker" as I was raised in and around it, but I guess I'm more a Rider.
I'd like to think we are all brothers and sisters as riders but for some reason it does not seem to be the case due to a brand loyalty...pity really..hmmm
That attitude isnt just the Harley or Cruzer riders. It has spread to the Yuppie sport bike riders. Rich idiots who have every bolt on accessory they can get their hands on, with onepeice racing leathers, just to do a run to the local shops and pose.
Think maybe Australian Bikers are a tad different than the States,a lot of the oz bikers i have met are R.U.B.s, you know, rich urban bikers,if its raining i aint taking my bike out to get it dirty,i've seen so many of these people, buy a Harley, fill the fist full of rings and play the part.Got no miles or road time up but they've got attitude.Really ticks us ol farts off,an' people cant understand why i like to ride alone,no attitude,no bull from some 19 year old wanna be,just me and me ride, yup i'm happy
