In my paper this morning there's a fed. task force here now to assist local building enforcement agencys in the hurricane affected areas. There's still many blue tarp roofs around me and throughout the state from the storms. If your'e here working make sure your'e papers are up to date. If you know someone here from outta state you might tell them too.

Thanks Turtle and SLB...I'm ok with the fact that things are gone...it's the frig*in "good folks" that burn my rear! I'm very skeptical of everyone now..and the more they toot thier own "horn", so to speak, the more skeptical I become...
Yeah, SLB, I do fleamarkets, garage sales...I love digging through things that others disgard...that's how I got one of the china closets that was taken from my house...it was an antique and valued at about 1500-2000...found it in VA back in the early 80's at a lil junk shop. :) But something tells me that it wouldn't be out on the street corner now! As for the rest...well, a flick of a match and it's gone anyway. :)
I just don't understand why someone would purposely go into a home after something like we've been through, here in FL, and help themselves to what was left! It's beyond my understanding, Thank God! To understand them would put me at their level...I am so far above these slime balls!:)
Anyway, thanks for your wishes! Alls well in Angel's world...I mean, my things are gone..but replaced with priceless friendships and the love of a good man! How much more blessed could I be??? :)

Ride Safely All! Angel

Angel - sorry to hear about all of your losses...have relatives in the tampa area...same story. My heart truely goes out to you all.

What ever happened to common descency and helping out your fellow man in times of need?

Oh...they thought it was "help yourself to what you need"....

Unfortunately in times of crisis even the slim surfaces....

Angel, dear I hope the looters get whats coming to them!
Ever go garage saleing?
You might run across your belongings?
Here in "Hooterville" a 73 yearold farmer shot five of six looters who were going thru his homestead, one lived.
Never was reported in the news.
Wonder Why?

Turtle, I'm from Vero Beach..we took two direct hits during the 4 hurricanes...there are so many blue roofs...and just as many fly-by-night "helpers" here from out of state and from our own folks! Everyone is out for the almighty dollar.. the more you get, the better off you are...screw the folks that lost everything and haven't had their hands out for anything! Some of us believe that you get what you earn...and what you put out, comes back to you...lol
That one I just love!!! Can't wait to see the one that stole my furniture from my damaged house get what they deserve...just knowing it's coming is almost enough for me. lol

Ride safely Everyone! Angel :)

Unfortunately Florida is filled with all sorts of folks posing as roofers and so forth since the storms. Some have catchy slogans and names too, Aftermath Construction, Storm Damage Experts, Storm Damage Insurance Experts, Stormy Roofing, you name it. Saw one yesterday that cracked me up, had "Northern Quality / Southern Style" on his back window. WTF's That?

I would hope that after what everyone in FL went through that they don't have to encounter any fly-by-night-shotty-contractors....they've been through enough! I was living in Pensacola and moved back to New Orleans just months before Ivan....thank the Lord every day for keeping his eye on me....my apartment is no longer standing.
