Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked,
"Who would like this $20 bill?"
Hands started going up.
He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.
He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"
Still the hands were up in the air.
Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"
And he dropped it on the ground
and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.
He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.
"Now, who still wants it?"
Still the hands went into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it
because it did not decrease in value.
It was still worth $20.
Many times in our lives,
we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.
We feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or
what will happen, you will never lose your value.
Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives c*omes not in what we do or who we know,
but by WHO WE ARE.
You are special- Don't EVER forget it."
If you do not pass this on, you may never know the lives it touches, the hurting hearts it speaks to,
or the hope that it can bring.
Count your blessings, not your problems.
And remember: amateurs built the ark ..
professionals built the Titanic.
If God brings you to it - He will bring you through it.

Smile,

Thanks for reminding me of that story. It's been a while since I heard it and I'm so glad that you reminded me and placed it out here on this forum thread.

It's nice to be reminded of the things we take for granted of and forget about because of life's every day issues.

Thanks again and take care!

Maybe I'll see ya sometime soon? (hee-hee)

You're welcome, Rev! You know...I get these inspirational emails every once in awhile that I have seen before, but then I say to myself..."self? why don't you share it with your friends on BK cuz you never know who's life you will touch with the words..." So again, my friend...you are so very welcome...I always love the ones you post also, so thank you!
And wouldn't that be oh so very nice if you & I will be able to see each other sometime soon! Take care ~

Smile, the threads you start are always full of wonderful positive thought and energy. Thanks for sending all these good "vibes" out over the internet through this forum.

I like the saying too that we are each a child of God and a person of worth.

There's a thought that some have that says we manifest our own reality by the way we choose to think and by the way we choose to act on those thoughts.

And I have often said and really believe that the energy and thought force we put out into the universe is what we draw to us.

If either of these ideas hold water, then you, Smile, must truly manifest a great reality and you must surely draw many good things to you.

Thank you, Happykitty...I truly enjoy what you share also on the forum, as I've mentioned in the past. I just believe that attitude is everything & I really do try my best to have a great attitude (hence with me being known for my smiles & my hugs). One of my favorite sayings is one from my sister "Life is too short to dance with ugly people". So I always try to surround myself with positive energy & with positive words. And the cool thing is? If I do get a bit down? Gosh if I don't have everyone around me lifting me up then with their positive words & energy & hugs & smiles! What goes around comes around! Have a great day, my friend...

Thank you smile. That is the way I feel about myself. Everyone thinks that I should be worth less for some period of time because I lost Sweet Pea. I look at it this way.. I was super blessed by God when he gave us the short time we had together. That time made me worth more than I ever dreamed I could be worth. Why should I morn her. I celebrate her ane the time I had with her.

Thank you for posting this. It verifies my feelings ..

You're so very welcome, Dane...Hugs...
