Let's face it. To the non-biking public and officers of the law, we represent outsideers, risk takers and non conformists. The impression of many of them is that we all have loud pipes, drive too fast and recklessly endanger others. Officers tend to profile m/c riders just as they would a potential terrorist. They usually have some small reason to pull us over but they are actually on a fishing expedition looking for "the big one", that is a bigger violation like a warrant, not properly licensed, or possession of something illegal. Nine times out of ten they "dust you off and send you on your way". Once they stop you they are kind of obligated to give you a "parting gift" the ticket just to justify the reason for the stop. I know, I know wouldn't a warning have done the same thing. I should be greatfull. In the USA we don't have all of the requirements you have in the UK. Why some states here still don't have a helmet requirement. If you can't hang with your laws, give us a visit. Arizona is a great place to tour in the winter. Good luck to you. Stay safe.
PS - Maybe yoru right. It might have been just for the money. Ha!
