Are intelligent men dangerous? Do you prefer a man more or less intelligent than you or equal?

Is a thinker a turn on or turn off?
What is considered a brainiac?

I truly appreciate your question and I have pondered it myself many times. While I have always been attracted to good looks they never took first place. I have always known that I HAD to be with an intelligent man no matter what. I admire, revere and respect intelligence. I cannot stand ignorance. It is lazy, frightening, boring, intolerable. I have always been attracted to an intelligent man because I want to learn from him. My thought is that if he is truly intelligent then he will know that learning is circular and he in turn will want to learn from me as well. Our higher power put both male and female on this earth to integrate, grow, learn and love from each other. I could never be with a man who did not feel that he had something to learn from me as well. As a mother of two grown children I remember the first time I learned a humbling lesson about humility from a two year old that brought me to my knees. I realized then that my higher power was absolute perfection. Intelligence that has a string which is connected to the heart is the best.

Yes, heart and mind need to be in communication and sharing the wheel.
Wisdom leads to humility; it is the temperance of Intelligence.
I would say ignorance is similar to darkness and in such darkness people are more often afraid and hateful than in the light. However, eyes grown accustom to the dark can be repulsed and extremely offensive to the light. Just think how annoying a high beam headlight is at night.
Gentleness is important.
A man and woman are a magical combination where the opposites are blended, fused and welded into one in the furnace of Love. How much stronger the weld, and greater the bond when intelligence can help navigate and communicate the waters of life. Growth is possible when both partners are seen as equal contributors and not opposite competitors. When I feel(heart) and know (head) you as ONE than Love has begun.

Yes you are right....Having met this man and him being my soul brother....He is oh so handsome, smart as the proverbial whip, and can dance his sweet butt all over that floor...it's been my pleasure to experience it all...and I might add, a helluva bike rider.

My sweet sister you are causing me to blush! You are too kind. I will have to take you for a ride on Blues when I get out there. She is much more comfortalbe for two up riding. Do you have any scenic vistas? I need to start doing my Ohio research been through to Detroit but never visited.
Looking forward to seeing you again.
Yes my @zz does seem to be a popular feature of this creature.

Springer, I didn't understand what you meant. Obviously, you are much more intelligent than myself, and I'm not saying that just to flatter you. You had replied to my comment about "if my future husband is reading this, contact me." You said something about thanks for the compliment. Are you suggesting you may be my future husband?
I say this half-jokingly, though I honestly don't understand what you meant by your comment. If you are interested in me, I would love to talk to you.

Pretty boys..more concerned with their own perfection than their lives direction. (I am going to get flak for that one)
A scar or two maybe three above the belt below the knee on the knuckles good stories and good chuckles. To not be afraid to bleed or break to give to life what you might take never being afraid of the fall while going for it all or just being caught in the thick of it all.
If you dance, you sweat, you shake, you bleed you break but you know life itself isn't a beautiful vase to be put on a shelf but something to be filled and you can't live if you are always safe. Risk is the boundary of growth, but foolishness alone will never give you the throne!

I think of Sundance Scars and what they mean to the tribe.

Gothic,
You're not weird! : )
I also don't like 'pretty boys.' A balance between rugged, scars, imperfections, a nice nose (I like noses, so interesting); a healthy looking man with warm eyes and a beautiful smile. Well, that's my cuppa' tea. Now, between brains vs. brawn, I'd have to go the High Road and say: Both! Sexiest man alive is smart, something of a hunk and oh yeah: a SweetN'Strong gentleman.
Glad the doors and windows are open this morning, 'cause I'm starting to get h*t thinking about it. Now, if he can dance:look out!
...Fans self. Nothing like a personal heat wave.

Great statement!
Self confidence allows you to appreciate the talents, wisdom and gifts of others that maybe better than your own but to recognize you have your own unique contribution that is just as worthy. Equality of difference.

Most artistic people are super smart, unfortunately the pressure often leads them to alcohol and drugs, which isn't smart at all.

I think the issue with artistic people and substance abuse is since the 60's it has been a short cut to getting in touch with the creative unconciousness by drowning out consciousness for awhile. It was learned that with substance we can cut down the conscious chatter and enter that realm without a great deal of training, focus and meditation. Some have called it crashing the gates of heaven. Unfortunately just knocking out consciousness and going for a ride doesn't allow you the necessary strength of consciousness to encounter and incorporate the powerful numinosum behind self presence without being consumed because you have left behind the power of conscious assimilation and separation (that has been so necessary for our growth with such a history of struggle to even reach its present apex). Pretty soon there are too many holes between the veils and the organ itself is destroyed by such gate crashing entrances.
Older cultures ritualized the use but prepared consciousness to participate in the journey and bring back the prophetic messages and images without self destruction. It wasn't like just getting in a car everytime you wanted to go somewhere. you prepared and it was a sacred journey possibly a single time if it was noticed you had the gift that you would go to the otherside or maybe as an initiation but not as a habitual everyday practice.

Honestly, I would prefer more intelligent, because I believe a man should run the show.
Ah the acitve principle of the masculine! What show?

By the way, if my future husband is reading this, contact me.

Double Delight thank you for the wonderfully worded compliment.

letting opportunity for discovery persist
where memory might say it has disappeared
but the wise child knows it is always near.

I would definitely take the muscle over brains. As far as handsome goes, I don't like pretty boys. I like the rugged look. Scars and other imperfections turn me on. I'm weird.

SSpringer,
Your nectarous soul has sweetened my mind and heart! Thank you for being an amazing man and for sharing your pearls here.
Balance is one of my very favorite words... To know too much information can steal a soul's ability to be Serendipitous. Too little information can be like trying to Dance with Sharks.
Wisdom is the key: A balanced dance.

I think a lot of it has to do with a person's own self-esteem. Some people, especially men are intimidated by a potential partner that is smarter than them. Or they are so concerned about their own self-image and how the smarter person might make them look in front of others.
I do not consider myself highly intelligent, but some people I've been around feel that I am. I admit that I am usually attracted to the bad-boy look, and unfortunately most of the guys with that look also have the bad attitude. Some of them are dumb as a box of rocks, but you can't judge a book by it's cover. I have met a lot of tattooists and musicians who are highly intelligent. Most artistic people are super smart, unfortunately the pressure often leads them to alcohol and drugs, which isn't smart at all.
I am secure enough that I could be with a man who is either more or less intelligent than myself. Honestly, I would prefer more intelligent, because I believe a man should run the show. Even if I am smarter than my future husband, I wouldn't ever let him know that. By the way, if my future husband is reading this, contact me.

I love getting to know what makes people tick. I love a man who is who he says he is. Intelligent good I hope I can chat with him on his level. Average Joe no problem but maybe I might seem to intelligent to him. What you call intelligent depends on the person and their interests, personality, etc.... In any case just be yourself!
