When I was a little guy I used to beg her and my great grandmother both to teach me the entire language. My grandmother would teach me what she could remember (phrases, greetings, etc) and my great grandmother would tell me that since no one in N. California spoke Cherokee, why learn it? A couple of years ago I found myself riding through the Ozark Mountains in the spring time (breath takingly beautiful place!) and I happened on a little shop in Eureka Springs full of Cherokee art, and various other stuff. I found a book there that had the language in two dialects. I still have it, but wouldn?t mind taking some classes some day to actually learn the language.
Cherokee, not sure what dialect though sorry. My grandmother used to tell me that when I was a kid. She was full Cherokee so I assume it was right.
Buggerbender I would assumeyour grandmother was right also.I had 2 4 & 5
th great grandmothers that were full blood chrokee but that
