In this site almost every biker bloke or gal who is from the US owns a Harley, I know there are those of you who don't, but you're in the miniority.. What is it about the Harley that you guys'n gals love? In the UK they are few and far between. I don't own one myself, but the love you ooooose through the sheer numbers of owners of harley's makes me want to! Can anyone put it into words?

Lady Harley riders turn the head every time, I know that, I get a kick out of the look from people..

Hey now, stop that! Don't put down those Rice burners, only had two break under me, which is way less than all the brothers that needed push starts, or a leg up push to the nearest wrench. Man what I'd give to have that KZ1000 back. What a dependable mover that bike was. Redline that monster all the time and it'd come back for more. Those HD's in their day had poor electrics and fouled plugs for often than not. Ha! ha!

Good, good, good, vibrations...excitations...(that's from a song)

There is no sweeter sound than that low throaty rumble of a harley, in a pack or that lone one. Music to my soul.

It's the negative ground electrical system and the fact that they are designed to drive on the right-hand side of the road.

Harleys...what can I say about them...the look, the feel of riding on one, and the sound is so hot. I know the sound of a Harley and I can't resist glancing in the direction the sound is coming from.

I believe Harley personifies everything American. from "Local boys make good" to Freedom, to Individuality to a Code of ethics and style(see posts under "biker code").
Other countries seem to have "enthusiasts" and "fans", Americans have an Icon. Ask about any 75 yr old woman in America and she will no doubt have a story of an old Beau that rode one o them damn cicles. my next door neighbor quit riding at 76 due to a stroke (which he, fairly enough, claims made him fall over a lot). Ever see a 76 year old oriental onn'a honda??.
Don't get me wrong, my first bike was a bonneville 650, poor bastard didn't know what hit it!!, and I built a 750 honda drag bike would do 10 sec. @140 ( before ninjas would do it out'a the crate). good bikes but NOT a Harley they were just Hmmm? Machines!

The myth is a Harley will get you a woman! I have 2 harleys and the line "You can ride my other one" doesn't even work. So, it go's back to when I was 15 or 16 and I seen my friend on a rigid panhead, the sound, the look, and that is was kool. So, here I am.

It's pretty much the quintessential American motorcycle. Hard to resist on that level alone, over here.

I still like my Triumph though.
