I am debating about letting my kids know I am on here. I would like to keep it private, as I don't want them to think if it's ok for me then it's ok for them - ya know teenagers are complete PITA's. So anyone with teens out there know you are on this website?
My kiddies are 16,13 & 6 and they know about this site. They don't know that I have dated off here...well my 16 y/o does. They know this as a place that Mom chats and mets friends.
I like to be honest with the kids, so that they will be honest with me.
Well my girl is 10 and she has seen me on here and says "stop looking for a boyfriend mom"...lol.we were laffin bout it...she loves bikes and is very protective of her mom , but I dont feel I need to hide anything because i am not ashamed of what I do and never will be either..well unless I have had few too many then I am not responsible for my actions lol.But I dont drink around her sooo I am good!
These days the internet is known for chatting and emailing so theres nothing to hide!
If you have teens, likely they know more about what sites you visit than you do anyway.
And, likely they know you are looking for someone to date.
Your call though. Your kids after all.
my daughter knows about this site--she is older--i'm with Angel--if you hide it from them they can interpret it as sneaking around and it is like the old saying

My kids know about BK. I never did let on that it's a date-site, though, since I never considered it that way from the beginning!
I consider the site a great way to meet people, and I've let my kids know when I've gone to different bike events where BK-er's have attended, who I was able to meet, and the good times I was able to have because of those people.
If you keep an open mind and view of what this site is....and not just think of it as a singles/dating site, then your children will see and learn that same perspective.
Seems to me what you're teaching him is that it's ok to sneak! Be open and honest..don't try to hide anything that you do...that only makes it look wrong and suspicious! Peace...Angel
Hey, I have a teenager, he is almost 17 and I really don't hide much from him, he knows I am on here, and he thinks its pretty cool, besides, keeps me out of his hair!! Also, he has already learned just because I do something, that doesn't mean he gets to. We have been through this many times.
I don't try and hide it..but this is my playtime! If I meet people I choose to bring into my physical life then my kids will meet them if I choose. Until then...it doesn't concern them.
