That is wonderful to know, since I have alwasy loved butterflies and hummers and plant heavily in my garden for them both.
Do you know where this came from Spadoman? I would love to read up on it. This last year, my butterfly bushes have attracted many butterflies for their full life cycle. Makes my butterfly heart thrill at the sight.

Hey DD, In following the path of a spiritual warrior, I have had the opportunity to learn many things. The first thing you learn is that you never will stop learning and wil never know everything.
One of the things I paid attention to was the idea that the spirit lives forever, somewhere. If you want it to be in your heart, invite it and it will come.
When I see a butterfly, or a dragonfly for that matter, I always think it's the spirit of my daughter there to pay me a visit. If someone else says, "Hey, look at the butterfly" and I wasn't paying attention I scold myself and remind myself to pay attention to what is around me in nature.

There are many stories about butterflies and the existance of spirits. The oldest, I think, dates back to 4BC when people thought that when they sleep, your soul, or spirit, leaves the body and travels around taking the form of the butterfly.

Of course the Christians associate Jesus with the butterfly. As Jesus rose from the dead, the butterfly transforms from a lifeless cacoon into a beautiful flying creature.

The Aztecs thought the butterflies to be the spirits or souls of the dead Warriors returning.

In my teachings from Lakota/Dakota and Anishanabe elders and spiritual advisors, I have never heard a specific story about the butterfly, but I have been around this life long enough to see that the sighting of a butterfly is the sighting of a visit from someone from the spirit world.

In my own experience, it's not just that you saw a butterfly, it's what you were doing, or what was happening or your thoughts when it happened. There are no coincidenses. It all happens for a reason. It's our job to pay attention.

DD, G/f, I understand exactly what you're saying here, but then, that really does NOT take a genius, huh? LOL Anyway, I've got your back on this one...it's just as you and I discussed on the fone...if you can't have a positive influence in my life, you can't have an influence at all! No?

Hope you're enjoying your time with Doc and Tina and Ug! They're wonderful folks that love very easily! Peace and Happy Holidays...(give my big brother a hug and kiss for me, via Claudia's permission, of course!)

Dyna- I love ya! ty for stepping up with some funnies!

Jerry- Yours was silly...ty

here's a funny:
n pharmacology all drugs have two names, a trade name and a generic name.

For example, the trade name of Tylenol also has a generic name of
Acetaminophen. Aleve is also called Naproxen. Amoxil is also called
Amoxicillin and Advil is also called Ibuprofen.
The FDA has been looking for a generic name for Viagra. After careful
consideration by a team of government experts, it recently announced
that it has settled on the generic name of Mycoxafloppin. Also
considered were Mycoxafailin, Mydixadrupin, Mydixarizen,Dixafix, and of course, Ibepokin.
In other drug news today, Pfizer Corp. announced that Viagra will soon
be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a
power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible
for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no
longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names for "cocktails", "highballs" and just a good old fashioned "stiff drink".
Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of "MOUNT & DO?

Hi Double, I wrote this one on my way riding home last night, no, really, I did,,,,,,

Two bikers were riding along the country road into a glorious sunset after enjoying riding all day. There was just a sliver of the moon left in the sky, settling into the oranges, pinks, grays and purples of the clouds. At a stop sign one asked the other, "Do you know the difference between a new moon and a full moon?" His buddy answered, "More or less!"

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense. Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge).

His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. - Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on; if not, join the majority and do nothing.
