10 July 2006:*Wrench Whore went down on PCH a week ago Sunday. He was filtering and a car started to change lanes.
CW has serious road rash, a fractured C 7 and some stitches. He had neck surgery and is still in ICU.
PLease send him good mojo, prayers, good energy, etc. He has taught many how to ride and has a big kind heart. He loves to ride in the Malibu 'Alps' and has taken thousands of riding pictures over the years.
Hope every thing turns out for the best..I send many well wishes and your in my thoughts and in my prayers..I hope you have a short road to recovery and that it will be quick and speedy.. GET WELL SOON!!!!!!From Naomi in North Dakota
Crashing SUX - hit and run accidents are the worst.
Can't say as I enjoy hospitals. Fast talked an early release from the hospital. Figured that from 07/02 to 07/19 was long enough...
Surgery went well, there is some nerve damage, left arm limp and numb - I'm right handed.... I'm able to get up, walk unassisted and wipe my own butt. Lots of healing ahead of me.
Thank you for all the prayers and positive energy.
I'm new to the site and don't really "know" anyone yet, but I hate to hear about a biker going down. Regardless of any differences people may have on different issues, I feel like the biker crowd is just a big extended family. I lost a friend about two weeks ago after he was hit head on by a car going the wrong way on a highway exit ramp. I hope Wrench Whore recovers well.
My prayers and thoughts are for you, I remember all too well how fast every thing happens and how long it takes for all the aches and pains to go away.

Rescue1, Treas1, Suz, Smile and Cruisergirl: Thank YOU for all the good mojo you've been sending! I know CW appreciates your kind words.
CW's riding friends brought him a lap top so he could get back in contact while he is resting in the hospital. Not sure how much he can do with one of his arms temporarily out of commission, but he is joking around. He's the kind of guy who always looks for the positive and riding is his main passion in life. Hope he can ride again soon. His Physical Therapy should be starting soon.
Yes, when you hear those words "biker down", your heart clutches.
As I paraphrased before from a pilot's prayer..."When a biker goes down, a little bit of every other biker in the world goes down with him"
Prayers go out to you Wrench.
Thanks Char, ArmyD, BbKitten, HBabe, Varider, and AZCruiser for your kind words and good mojo. Cw is in a room now and out of ICU. The tubes are out and his right arm is numb (severed nerve), however he is in good spirits and already talkin' bikes. I will let him know you're sending good thoughts his way.
