Well...just got in last night from one rally and already getting ready for the next one!

Who is planning on making this one? It's huge and the island is covered with bikes for the full weekend....great time!

For you guys going, we need to plan on meeting up somewhere. Throw some ideas out there and let's see where it goes!

Just got in from the Lone Star Rally!

It was better this year than I remember it being in the past. We got a little rain Saturday afternoon, but not too much.

TONS of bikes...so many, we couldn't even get down the Strand Saturday night.

It wasn't as good as ROT, but right up there with it, in my book!

Yep, I'm still going. Leaving after work on Friday though. Probably won't make it there until 8 or 9 Friday night, but things should just be starting up by then!

I've been away for a while, so catch me up on things and let me know if we want to try to catch up with each other somewhere Saturday for a drink or something.

We can't all be in the same city and not meet up!!

Trying to get the whole babysitting thing taken care of so i can make it down....keep your fingers crossed for me. Will be leaving out of the Dallas area hopefully Friday afternoon. Catch me on Y @ sagacious girl watching and throw an underscore between each of those words.

...decided to go today....anything planed HGurl? M/G ? a ride ? ...........will have duct tape & bungees if anybody needs...(ykw you are)..lol.......I'll leave on 3rd/morning......never been their..any tips to help?...

Was wondering if there is anyone that will be heading down to Galveston on Thursday, Nov. 3rd that might be interested in riding with me from NW Houston. The person I was suppose ride with will not be able to make the rally. If interested drop me a note Txbikergirl2005 on America Online.

Go to the site HG mentioned in her first post. There are places to stay on that home page. Because of the storm a lot of the events have been moved to the Blimp Base, which is about 18 miles away. Lots of people camping/RVing there.

May be back on that jet and go to this rally. What about registration? Are there still rooms you think? Any meet and greet planned?

Well I'll be there,will be heading down on Wensday night.Have friends there so no problem with hotels or anything.Should still be a good rally,don't expect the 250,000 that was ther last year,but still should be a good crowd there.

Don't bet on those leathers just yet. If I remember correctly, I was wearing shorts Christmas day last year. Ridiculous.

With the temp drop we're having now though, we may end up with some nice 60 - 70 degree weather at that time. I mean, here it is first of October and we're already down to 85! Whoo Hoo!

Gee maybe I will finally get to wear my leather which have been collecting dust. i will be at the Blimp Base camping out. Do not have to worry about the heat maybe. This is Texas you know!!!

Man...I hate they keep moving it, but honestly, the weather should be perfect for riding at that time!

Sure hope some of our friends up north try to make it..us Texans would love to meet up with a bunch of ya'll!

Hurricane Rita Update

September 28. NEW DATES NOV 3-6

PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR BIKER EMAIL LIST.

We apologize for "one more change" but things have been happening
fast for the last week.

We just finished a meeting with the City of Galveston.
The extent of infrastructure damage, traffic signals
down and traffic signs down are so great that Galveston
has requested that we hold the Rally until Nov 3-6.

We will be posting additional info and hotel availability
as soon as possible. Also the City is working with us on
Hotel Room Gouging. If you run into that let us know and
much pressure will be brought to bear on the offenders.

HarleyGurl, you may as well head toward Fayetville to the Bikes Blues and BB-q next weekend and ride the hurrican out there....been awhile since we had a hurrican party up there..take care...Bob

Thanks doll. Been talking to all my folks down there and they are starting to leave the gulf coast as of today. Already a volunteer evacuation going on. Two of my workers got alerted today for National Guard duty just incase. Will see you in late Oct if things are ok......

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Rita on the Galveston area,
and after discussions with Emergency management officials the
2005 Lone Star Rally has been rescheduled for the weekend of
Oct 27th to 30th, 2005.

You will need to change any hotel reservations for the original date.

We apologize for the inconvenience this will cause, but after witnessing
Katrina on the Gulf Coast, we are sure that you will understand the need
to put people's safety first.
