I really love it out here in Wa., but one of the things I miss about the South is the sugar. They don't have sweet tea out here, and the men don't call ya honey, darlin' and sweetie like they do back South. They're real nice out here, don't get me wrong, just a difference in culture. But I miss sweet tea and being called darlin' by men who don't even know me.
Last year I had some work done on my car and my mechanic didn't call me honey once. I don't remember that ever happening in Ga. I don't feel like I got a full service deal here. Next week I'm taking my car in. I think I'll walk in there and call him honey or dear, nothin' too heavy. I don't want to scare him. Maybe I'll get a good deal or maybe he'll call me honey back. That'd be nice.
The point is: If any of y'all men ever respond to any of my posts and wanna throw in a darlin' or honey, that'd be fine. A little sugar don't mean nothin' and don't hurt nothin'. I'm a Southern woman and I like my tea sweet. Thank you.
My ears are so tuned to the sound of cycles that I can hear them when they turn the corner...so I'll open the garage door and just let you slide on in...
Ty, if I didn't already have birthday plans tomorrow, you'd likely find a silver 03 Indian chief in your driveway by the morning. Only a 9 hour drive.....And if I know Brock (and I do) he may already be on his way.....
RdK & Brock
Both of you are so right! Most of us gals here in the south are affectionate. When introduced we shake hands with both hands. When we see our friends, no "air kisses" here, we HUG (male & female) with true care & affection. We are steadfast in our friendships, always there for support in time of need.
And family...well if we treat our friends like family, you can only imagine how much we love, support & protect our blood ties!
And the love of our lives?....spoiled doesn't even come close!
I've always felt the term "steel magnolia" was such a perfect discription of the southern woman. Soft, sweet & tender....but when faced with adversity...strong as steel!
I just started talking to this Lady from (HINT) Warrior, Al. and reading comments by other ladies and now I realized that these Southern Ladies are alright. Now I know what I've been missing out on all these years. They have more heart and passion for themselves, family, friends and their soul mates.
Now Brock. You and I both know the Chief riders love skirts, whether southern or otherwise, lol.
But then there is that mind melting southern drawl the southern ladies have that can bring ya to your knees......
HK.....WOOOO HOOOO!!!!! I am so tickeled for you!!!! Wish you all the luck & love in the world g/f!!! I'll even "say a little prayer for you"!! PLEASE keep us posted!!
anytime your up this way.....you bet ya., i'll even call off of work.....lol.......and don't be fooled by a few, most of us women love the kindness, goodness, and stright forwardness of an honest man, especially of the southern kind.........
