A friend of mine once asked me to write my own obituary, saying what I want left behind to be remembered by.
Here goes:

Tombstone Epitaph, Tombstone,Arizona 1888

The Breed known as Jess passed over today. His last words were to his long time friend and companion, Tippy, the Mule.

He said "Old hoss, it's been interestin. Though I've wronged some folks, it was unintentional and though my mistakes were plenty, I made the best decision I could, with the knowledge I had, each time. I've made some good friends and even better enemies. I've laughed and sang more times than I've cried. And yuh know sumpthin hoss? I wouldn't change a durn thing!"

Here lies little ol' Red,
Who lived life to the fullest until she was dead!
She made sure she was buried face down you know why?
So the whole world could kiss that cute ass good-bye!

Here he lies dust to dust.
Early in life following orders, did what he must

Loved the ladies one by one as a rogue in the shadows
Some all alone and others with fellows

Once gave himself to another thinking life was complete
But mistakes were made on both sides of that street

Always tried to do what was right
Sacrificing and seeing in second hand sight
While in the end it was perfectly clear
He would sit in the black of night all alone, with his demons and fears

On two wheels he traveled, over the land far and long
Meeting sisters and brothers along the way, sharing drink, laughter, and song

His journeys not over, nay it has just come to light
For the next world is now all a rumble with the sounds of his pipes

Pity not the poor sole that dies all alone
For life is what we make of if
In spite of the words etched upon our stone...

Blondie Ostara died June21st, 2035.

Pour my ashes in the oil pump and take me for one more ride.

Don't cry, don't sing.
Just pour me in.

Pain's gone now, and even the sin.

Blessed Be! Blondie

HE TRIED!

No one took anything from him or kept him from what he wanted, though he did sacrifice some of his dreams for those that he truly loved.

Not a victim, but a giver,
Not a taker, but very blessed,
Not known widely, but well known,
Not a person, but a memory!

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming...DAMN! What a ride!
