I have a friend who tells me little white lies.I mean I have never caught her in a big lie its really stupid little things she lies about.
Would you just ignore them and just take that person for how they are? Or maybe just end the friendship. She has always been here for me and a great friend.

Lying is one of my biggest pet-peeves. it's ok if someone is joking around with me or messing with me and then comes clean. that's all in fun. but just flat out lying, big or small, fires me up. i take it as a personal insult to my intelligence, as though they think i'm dumb enough to believe them. if i think someone is lying to me, i call them out on it right then and there.

Oh WOW Still....I don't deal with lies very well myself and I'll call someone on it without even thinking about it but sometimes I'll be gentle in my approach...reasoning is some people lie because they don't have a very high opinion of themselves and they want to look good in your eyes!.....The lies that really get to me are the ones that are told to you because someone is up to no good and they don't want to get caught!...They can just look into your eyes and lie....Sad!

yea, lies are a very sore point for me, even the little ones. anger usually stems from pain and lies have caused a lot mine. and yes, when someone looks you square in the eyes and then lies...that's the worst. sounds like you might have been there.

Lies are lies, big or small...the truth will always prevail sooner or later. Telling a lie to keep from hurting someone only prolongs the enivitable...

in a past life I would lie when the truth would do...now I do my best to not lie at all... if I am lying to my friends how much respect am I showing them?? If lying is part of my personality, can I be trusted? Would you trust me if I lied all the time.. Where's the cut off on a little lie and a big lie??

I hate lying that just blows my trust for the one lying to me. Little white lies can and often do lead to big fat lies and that is just wrong. I'm not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but I don't lie

MissKitty if you feel this is a good friendship then it should hold up to you speaking to her about it....but don't be disappointed if it doesn't change....it's something that is part of her for whatever reasons....but if it is interferring with your trust in her, maybe let it go!

Don't have to tell her you know. Just start a discussion about neat trivia you learned the other day.
When a person is telling the truth, their eyes look right at you or to the right.
When they are being creative (or telling a lie), their eyes look to the left.
That should make her self-conscious enough to help her not to lie in your presence anymore, since she'll figure you will call her out when she lies.

for real, that's not a lie, how about left handed people

Yeah, maybe, but have you ever tried to decide which way someone is looking? looking at them their right is your left and vice versa - I always get confused....I've tried it before...It is WAY too hard - I figgure - Too much energy trying to decipher when someone is lying...I don't really have the time to do that, and if I enjoy someone, what am I gonna do? Sit around and pick apart every sentance? NOT! If it's really important, it all c*omes out in the end anyway -

Let her know you know she's lying......maybe she'll stop? Let her know it bothers ya. If she is a true friend she'll explain herself and stop.

Okay. I confess to "little white lies". These really aren't pictures of me at all, but of my ugly older brother John. I, on the other hand am over 6', resemble Clark Gable, have the body of Arnie, the Governator, have ten harleys in my garage and enough wealth to make Bill Gates look like a gutter slut begging for enough to buy a glass of beer. Yup. That's me, alright. Yup.... LOL

Depends on what the friendship is worth and if it really agrivates. Old saying......no harm no foul. Each person has to make their own decision.

Don't we all have friends who lie a little?
I mean, whats a white lie? If it means that she said she spent $500 dollars when she spent 3-400....I dunno...I could live with that...
