No, it would not be legal here. You would have to get a permit from Wisconsin, and they are really sticky about who gets one. So, if you bring one along,, keep it cased, and unloaded,(any containing material that completely encloses the weapon is a case, i.e. tactical paper bag,,) those are the requirements for legal transport in Wisconsin.

The tickets go fast Cinny. When we went for the 100th a lot of our friends didn't get the concert tickets because they dragged their feet.

Even if you cant get to the summer Fest grounds, there will be partying all over town, Water Street is the next best place,, kind of like Mardi Gras there,,just a mile or so to the west of the fest grounds, and in the middle of Milw's downtown area.

I live about 15 minutes from the summer fest grounds, right nxt to the expressway. From past experience, I can tell you that rooms will be scarce to impossible within about 50 miles of Milw. and if you want to find one, it'll most likely be about 90-100 miles out, (Chicago, Madison, or points North, Green Bay, etc.) It gets so congested in town, that alot of locals will stay off their bikes while the hoopla is going on. If any of you folks come to town, know that cagers, are as bad here as anywhere, and the cell phone is a way of life here, so you will be wise to really watch out for cagers.(The ones from Illinois are even worse.) I can recommend restaurants, and such like resources, if anyone wants to know, and will be happy to show you around town if you like. A word of caution, first, although the police will usually not mess with visitors to these events, they are not to be trusted. We have some really bad apples here,so watch your backs if you must deal with them. Keep all knives, (anykind) in your saddlebags, same for firearms, (must be cased, and unloaded, in the saddlebags. Be certain that the numbers, on your bikes match, engine frame etc. or they will take your bike if they find it otherwise, until you can prove its legit. (if you ride a home built, you need all of your paperwork to indicate the stuff is legal, or you may not see your bike for a couple years...not kidding, its happened.) with this in mind, if the police ask you to ride your bike to the station, (just to clear things up,,,,) DO NOT Do THAT!!! make them tow it, because if you ride it in, you have just voluntarily surrendered your bike to them, and they do not have to return it until the feel like it, or you get a judge to order them to.If the bike is damaged, or scratched up in moving it, you can make a claim for those damages. Sad, but true here in Brew town. If you are a member of a patch club, the cops will arrest you, and tow your bike if you are wearing your patch on any of the ride in parades. lastly, these events attract all of the theft rings, so be sure to lock your bike every time you park. they watch for the slightly tipsy folks to park, and forget to lock up,, and wait a few minutes, then walk up, and ride it away. Sorry if this takes the bloom off the rose, but it is all true. And remember, these festivities are planned by folks who thought Elton John was a good choice for the music here last time, so plan accordingly.
