For riding horses, I love Ariat. ON long distance/camping runs on my bike I love my Merrill hikers that have a breathable waterproof lining and great lug soles. Short runs...my harley boots. A woman can never have enough boots.

Re:Yeah, I like Lama's a lot. I have HD, (ebay! :) ) but they do run small and I keep forgetting that everytime I win a bid :(
GoodFire write: Justin's, Tony Lama's, West Wing's ( a small local boot maker from twenty years ago.. not sure if they are still in business). Best pair of riding boots I ever had were a pair of customs made for me at the San Antonio Shoe Factory.

I live on a small farm just outside of San Antonio Texas.. Had to fly out to Columbus Georgia a few years ago to attend my grandfathers funeral. When I got there I had the misfortune of having his neighbors dog decide to use my Tony Lama's for chew toys.. (Never leave your boots by the pool when theres a playful rottweiler in the yard.. somebody remind me to add that to the "helpful household hints" blog sometime soon)..
Anyway.. I digress.. I went out the next morning to buy a new pair of boots.. Seems that the word "boots" means something different in Columbus Georgia then it does in Texas. Lol.
All the shoe stores kept showing me hiking boots/ hightop sneakers.. WTH?
Couldn't find a pair of new western boots in any of the stores.. Finally pulled over at a shoe repair shop to ask the owner if he knew where I could get a pair of western boots. I got lucky and he had a nice pair of custom boots that he had repaired for someone a year before, and they hadn't ever picked them up or paid for them.
Best damn pair of boot I ever had.. and no brand name on them.
