Well it was bound to happen, heard on the news last night the Harley plant is closing for a week becuz they dont have any orders in for new bikes..well maybe it will wake them up and not charge us up the a$$ for bikes and motor clothes.. They have ruined the market by mass producing bikes, I remember in the good old days when you had to wait 8 months for the bike you wanted..now just walk in and pick it up the next day...and with all the jap bikes looking like Harleys for thousands less, ppl dont really care if its a Harley between their legs anymore. I personnal dont feel that way..but seems thats the way the economy has gone, gas prices have really made their trickle down effect on everything we do, buy, and eat, about time we start taking care of the people at home not overseas..OK I will get off my podium now..thank you..thank you very much : )

Re: Lionsqrne write: I never heard which plants shut down for that week... but I know alot of people had put in an order for one of the two new Rockers coming out. This was for a bike that was announced 3rd quarter this year and still has not reached the dealers yet. Many folks are waiting until Jan or Feb now for a bike they haven't even seen at the dealer yet. I have heard various rumors as to why the delay but heck... at least keep the softail plant going to get caught up with the Rockers.

Hey hun where ya been??? I dont care for those rockers..I dont like the way the back of the seat is off the fender..looks like a crotch rocket..but I have not seen one up close and personal yet..your right not any dealers, around me atleast, have any in their stock

Re: Now that is a true bible story. (Sigh) I think I love you. Marry me Long!! longbeard52 write: PART 2 :They went out into the world, and created for themselves, and others, machines of surpassing beauty, and quality only drempt of within the great temples. time passed, the temples grew, and grew, each more avaricious than the last. fattened by the gluttony of the bearers of the gold and platinum talisman. Then, one day, the shallow, and capricious eye of the bearers of the gold, and platinum fastened on a new and different fancy. The lavish temples became quiet, and bloated with the objects of a now vanished affection. The dealer /priests were alarmed, saying, "we must stir the faithful to return and worship" And they went forth into the cities, seeking those they had turned away, and esteemed as nothing. They cried out saying "here! Here! we will grant you the boon of one of our machines, and at a discounted price !! Let us forget the troubles of the past, and remember your loyalty, and our past kindnesses to you so long ago. The desert prophets snorted in disgust, saying, "Idid not just fall off the caravan yesterday you know,, we have made our machines over in our own likeness, and turn our backs upon you, who have feet, and bikes of clay. and so it goes today, the mighty are falling, the vast river of tribute is but a trickle, and the dealer priests are fearing the wrath of their god,Lord Banker.

Re: HDCouple4U2NV write: I am a bit older, I remember the good ole days when you could buy a new harley for under $2,000.00. And I bought 2 for under that price. Ordering was not the good ole days! They were in major short demand then. I just think they need to drop the price a little. See back in the day when no one but us scooter trash rode them, they were cheap then the rice and famous jumped on the ban wagon and there went the price!

Ordering was the good ole days, the days when your used HD retained its value..now there are so many out there for sale you cant get shit out of them anymore.
