Re: AT Easy Rider we camp by burn out alley and guys actually bring a slew of tires just for the burn out. I always ask the same question too, WHY? on my ultra classic, could only get about 12,000 on the rear no matter what i did. bike was too heavy. front lasted twice as long, about 25,000 before needing to be replaced.

I don't abuse them. I'm not out doing burnouts and most of the miles are freeway. the fronts are starting to cup so they will be replaced shortly after. there wearing pretty evenly.

I get 12000 out of my Dunlaps even with the heat here but the bikes are in the garage in between. After having a rear skid blow out I'm thinking of changing more often.

i use the harley dunlaps.... got 17,000 out of the stock rear and 25, 000 out of the front before changing them on my 02 springer. alot depends on how you drive, starting and stopping. take it easy and they will last longer. burnouts (would never do) and hard breaking is (try to avoid) is very hard on the tread.

I just put Metzlers on my bike, I know it's not a Harley, but they made a huge difference in how the bike handled curves. Much stickier than the dunlop originals that yamaha put on there.

I have used Metzlers for quite some time now. I ride about 1000 miles a month and I prefer how they stick and handle. Good Rubber makes my bike handle better. Its a good thing i don;t ride horses. I'd have a pile of dead ones stacking up in the back yard for the beatings I dole out.

I use the HD Dunlop's and I get about 12000 out of the rear and I change the front tire every other rear tire. Seems to work for me.

i have avon venoms on mine now, and from what ive heard, the milage i got out of them was pretty good. did a bit of research on different aspects of different brands, and the dunlops had great info while other brands didnt tell you shit. Av8or, i kinna like the black, but i did see one company that has black ans a "color of your choice" together in a patern. lood good, but not for me and not for a harley. they screamed crotch rocket though. Zeke, the 880s were recomended for my 95 softail springer, and they seem to fit the combo of dry and wet riding, they seemed to be a little short on milage though tamera. do us all a favor and dont try to make your bike what its not...lol Deepinthesticks, ive heard from others the same thing your saying ,and thats not a good thing for me either. but i was told the avons were low milage too, so thats why im asking around. i dont like to throw away good beer money...lol PMS what arw we gonna do with you. you should know im not asking so i can get what everyone else gets. im asking to find out good and bad things from people using them, not salesmen. I may have to send you to my room for thinking like that about me...lol

I have used Dunlops and Metzlers but like the feel of the Metzlers better. My riding is more in the mountains and I get more mileage from the Metzlers (15k on the rear tire and 20k on the front).

I tried a Metzelar on the back tire before last. I liked the way it gripped the road but I bet I didn't get 6,000 miles out of it before it was showing cord. I'm back to Dunlops.
