FIREARMS REFRESHER COURSE 1. An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject. 2. A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone. 3. Colt: The original point and click interface. 4. Gun control is not about guns; it's about control.! 5. If guns are outlawed, can we use swords? 6. If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words. 7. "Free" men do not ask permission to bear arms. 8. If you don't know your rights you don't have any. 9. Those who trade liberty for security have neither. 10. The United States Constitution (c) 1791. All Rights reserved. 11. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand? 12. England. Not allowed. But its strange how everyone has one and even 7 year olds pack a piece and are willing to use it in the "Hoods" Policeman got shot dead the other day going into a domestic. Tow of his colleagues were already being held hostage. Non of the police still carry arms except if they are special police. Bloody stupid when the average shoplifter has more armoury than the Taliban and Al Queda. Should n't be asking them to go into situations with nothing. Policeman had had 5 commendations aleady to his name. leaves wife and kids. Junie

FTF I really dopn't intend on drawing attention just stopping someone from doing bodily harm or killing me, I am a very good aim. I can thread a needle with mine.

Don't own nor carry. M-16 was enough to carry and clean for 15 years in the military. But I sure do carry a mean 5 key key ring, nor do I have objections to people that do. I may be incorrect, but, I think, that here in Texas, if you pull it out, you had better fire it.

Regarding pistols. Automatics are a lot more dangerous than the other. They go off easier and you can accidentily shoot yoursef or other unintended persons. Think twice if you are considering an automatic.

Well that's it FTF, I was taught if you ever aim a gun at another human being you better be prepared to kill them, otherwise you don't aim a gun at them. So, it would not be done frivolously. I have been in uncomfortable positions alone but never to where I felt I needed to get my gun out. One time I felt I should call 911 because I was blatantly being followed in Texas and as soon as I hit the Louisiana border he stopped. That told me something, but even there I didn't think, oh, let me grab my gun. So you are right, training and education IS necessary. It has been many years for me. I for one absolutely need to be refreshed, I know that. But again, I myself do try to travel as wisely as possible just to avoid any problems.

You want me to keep track of your flashbacks??? Stopppppp! Yer Killing me heeeeeeerre!! Owwww my side hurts from laughing!! I can't even keep track of my own thoughts let alone your flashbacks, as fascinating as the job does sound. My memory is so hit and miss, you could tell me I was in Peoria with the Dali Lama this morning and I might say, you know, that seems familiar.... Gee, now that I think of it, your flashbacks and my everyday brain are pretty similar. Ewww scary huh RK. Maybe we were separated at birth. I feel a new blog coming on........

Best thing I can think of is don't get into a spot that you would need one. Proper training is very important if you feel you need one. Always remember if you have to pull it out, you had better be ready and expect to use it. Once it is out in the open it will draw all kinds of attention.

I know Fireman, but when I traveled alone there were long stretches where cells did not get signals and I figured if I was threatened I would, at the very least, reveal the weapon and let them know. But that would only be if I felt really threatened. But I timed my travel so I always made good time on the road and was in a motel before sundown. I kept my clip in one compartment and the gun in the other, one on top of the other though separate yet easy to get to if needed. I never had to do it. But an unloaded gun? Well I would take my chances with the cops. A woman driving alone has to protect herself. I figure we have to pick the lesser of two evils. But if I am really in danger. Bang, they are dead. Shoot first and explain later. I am not being facetious and your advice is really sound and I appreciate it. But look at you. You are a big man. Even a small man can usually defend himself physically much better than a woman. I am not a big woman. OK, no chubby jokes you guys. So, fuck em if they can't take a bullet. And that attitude comes from being hit a few too many times. I kinda don't like it. We women, some of us will just do what we have to do no matter what the law. Fortunately I am not a felon. But I do thank you for your advice and I appreciate you letting me know. I hope you don't think I am being sarcastic here, I am not. Thanks Fireman. Bdeldarlin!!!! C'mere you old bear, I wanna kiss you!!

TTT dont get caught traveling across state lines with your gun, and not having the proper permits. I know if you got caught in N.J. it is a felony for the gun and a felony for each bullet. they are tough over there

Advice for the house. Use a shotgun. Comes from my dad who was in the FBI and taught many Oklahoma police how to shoot. I'm a son of a gun. You can't miss with a shotgun. On the road use a pistol but you better be trained. I've been taught how to strip it from your hands, so stay at least 10' away before you shoot and shoot at the gut. That will put them down immediately and is an easy target. My 2 sents.

Daddy always said, when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns...which I thought was kinda cool in a way since I wanted to ride with Butch Cassidy or Jesse James...no not THIS Jesse James. The dead one.

Own a .357 and a 9mm. The .357 stays with me when I ride or drive alone.

All this talk about guns! Sheesh, if you're really serious about your guns then you'll want these ten safety rules for them also.
