I am somewhat amused by those of you out there who make comments about " no baggage!" Since the vast majority of people who frequent this site are 35 or older, I would think that it would be quite the challenge to find anyone who is void of "baggage." Personally, I don't think that I would be attracted to anyone who has lived their life totally free of risk and or is so perfect that they have never made a poor decision which might have resulted in "baggage." Face it, we all are toting a little baggage at this point in our lives. Anyone who says they are not, probably spends way too much time trying to convince themselves of this instead of dealing with the fact that they are less than perfect. Learn from your mistakes and move forward! Denying that you've made any and expecting that from others is unrealistic!

I have baggage but I keep it in the closet. Everyone has baggage but if you hold it against other people is when it becomes a problem. I don't burn bridges I still am on good terms with all my ex's (last hubby excluded cause I'm still mad at him for dying on me don't think I'll talk with him for a long time). LOL But at our we have baggage we just need not use it. Those saddle bag and tour pack liners are so much better. See I've moved on.LOL

I think baggage is what you carry from a past relationship. The bad stuff, like if he cheated on you, then you carry the "I dont trust anyone Im with" baggage, etc, but at our ages most of us have been in alot of relationships or atleast one or two bad ones, so we all have baggage, just depends on how you carry it into your next relationship. I try to give everyone a chance, but Fuk me over once it wont happen again.. and anyone who considers my kids baggage, isnt worth my time!

Problem with baggage is that you cant ignore it, you have to deal with it. Step-parenting nasty kids, spouses former addictions and relapses, unpaid debts, irate former lovers still hanging on, unwelcoming inlaws and friends that dont approve because you're the wrong color or religion etc etc. If you are going into a new relationship, make sure you have enough love in you as you have to be prepared to take all this on or walk away early so it doesnt become extra baggage for you. Your new relationship should move you closer to heaven not further into hell.

Seems to me that what most people refer to as, "baggage", is simply what makes people interesting and unique! I sure won't turn a guy down for a trip to the dining or bar car, just because he's carrying a couple of rather well stuffed saddlebags! On that track, I believe the important thing about "baggage", even when someone has enough to fill an Amtrak car, is this: that we know what's in it and how it's packed, don't dump it out on others and mostly plan to carry it ourselves.

Hey Susie I like your idea of baggage. If by chance you feel that you are a little too heavily laden with baggage I suggest you leave the "undies" at home!

I had to laugh reading everyone's replies. I have to admit every time I read "NO BAGGAGE" I go hide in my closet for a while thinking how not worthy I'm, HA! Somedays I feel I need a handler to help me out. I do understand the point thou, I don't think any one likes walking into a hornet's nest.

Hummm My mother always said a girl has to carry some baggage. She said you need a toothbrush, clean undies those fit right in the purse for any emergency. Well I still had room so I added massage oil for after those long rides. Its a nice way to end a ride. Is that to much, if so I'll have to figure out what to leave behind.

I don't consider my daughter to be baggage. Actually she is a blessing! In my blog I was refering to what most would call "emotional baggage" and hadn't even considered how some might refer to children as baggage. I think only those out there who are selfish, self-centered, I need all the attention weaklings, would consider our kids to be baggage!
