I do most of my riding alone. When I want to go I just go. Sometimes when I see other riders I would like to ride along with them. Is there a sign or a signal that would let them know? Most of the time they just go around me. I'm usually running 60-65 mph. Not trying to see how fast I can run, just enjoying the ride and the view. Sometimes (not often though) it gets a little lonely.

Canyon, I admire you and NasT and all the ladies that are out there riding alone. I didn't ride long enough to get the nerve up to ride alone. I started to a few times but..no huevos.
So...you just ride on up to the pack and enjoy yourself.
Be safe,
T

I agree, a wave then following along the group at the end works for me if I'm leading said group. I've been a HOG Road Capt for a number of years and have had other biker join us at times.

I've riden to Colorado and to Sturgis alone. While I would rather of had someone to ride beside me or on the back, I've had no problems at all in joining up with groups much the sameway as topdawg discribed. I've had some even wave me along side and give a thumbs up or somehow indicate it's alright to ride with them. When they pull in for gas, you pull in even if you don't need gas. You'll be part of the group in a minute Canyon. Almost gurantee it.

What dozerwayne said. There are times when I would like to join a pack for whatever reason, so I simply ease into the last position and ride till they turn off in another direction, or it suits me to leave the group. I've also run with another rider or two in order to increase our profile to cagers on the freeway.
By the same token, I've had riders join me and don't think anything of it other than the cagers can see two or three of us a lot easier than a single rider.
Nobody has ever objected or tried to outrun me.
